The color match is good, but I had a black vinyl mechanic chair, so I didn't have to mix anything. It was super fast and easy to use. The repairs I made are drying now. Make sure you super glue down the floppy vinyl. I didn't have any, so I knew it would not look perfect. You could also trim off the floppy bits. I think this actually works really well and for the cost, nowadays if you still have something functional but needs a little sprucing up, this is definitely worth it. My mechanic seat was tearing on the corners, so I put before and after pics. When I put the compound on I pressed down in the area to see if it would flex and it did. I think this will be a durable solution for this cosmetic problem. There's a lot of product in the tubes. I could probably fix things for the next few years. ... show more

    • A nice kit to save your leather, "pleather" and Vinyl
I've used a few of these kits over the years and I have to say this one is well thought out. Firstly, the tubes are generous. They are smart in they "tune" the colors included to ensure a better match to YOUR situation, so be careful of which color range kit you get, there are several choices. That's really much better than other kits I've seen that try to allow you to repair a rainbow! Unless you're an artist you'll struggle to do the color match with a kit like that. You know the saying - jack of all trades, Master of none. This kit doesn't try to cover all colors which allows you to have a smaller range when mixing, and also allows them to give bigger tubes in the kit! Clever. Also economical, you get more for your money, as you're not wasting the unneeded colors. They also offer personalized guidance by Phone, Email and Chat. You can send a couple pics and they'll help you. Good customer service, I've not seen offered before with these kits. Often you can get a judgement of a product by the company's attention to details. COCONIX seems to be paying attention to those details. One example is the backing cloth. This is a really tough, well made, piece of cloth! I can see it being used in heavy duty applications like a couch or car seats and holding up to the abuse. I think it would be nice if they included a thinner piece for lighter items like leather jackets. IDK if they have such but you could call them or chat on their site and ask if you have a lighter application to deal with. I had a chair that had a small tear and it worked great and color matching wasn't too tough and I'm no artist! (Sadly, LOL) Very nice kit! They're a couple dollars higher than some of the other kits, but I am happy to pay that for the better quality they offer, eh? :) Hope this helped! ... show more

Unfortunately I wasn't able to use this for what *I* wanted to use it for (I severely overestimated my abilities - no fault of the product!) so I gifted it to a friend who makes leather accessories. She was thrilled and has been able to use it on several of her projects. I don't know all the details except that she has texted me several times to say "I used your little lifesaver again today," and she's very happy with it! ... show more

    • White didn't blend as well as I'd liked
I wasn't as pleased with the outcome after using this product as I hoped. The application was the more difficult part. I try not to get too perfectionistic about things and it was hard not to with this. I didn't like the spatula application. It didn't seem like the texture was blending in correctly and I couldn't blend it with my fingers cuz that left fingerprints. I was also using this to fix a white/ eggshell color leather cushion. I think if I were using a darker color I probably wouldn't have been able to tell or it would have blended in better but it didn't blend in as much as I would have liked with white. I do appreciate how many different colors there are and how easy it is to color match with their guide. It's very comprehensive. The little container provided for mixing is difficult to clean, however. so that was disappointing when I couldn't really use it more than once ... show more

Nice set that includes a variety of premixed colors that you can also use to mix a custom color in the included little plastic jar. It includes a spatula to apply the product, and a brush to feather out from the repair as well. Color instructions are included. We used it to repair a couple of tears on a leather jacket. It worked well and adhered nicely. It seems to have a bit of elasticity which should help it stay in place, even with movement. Overall nice little repair kit at a decent price of $16.95.     • unbelievable restoration!
My wife's boots got a lot of cuts and peeling due to year of use. She like those boots and I though I could fix them with this kit. I look for many kits online and this one seemed the one easier to use and with good results. With the colors yellow, brown, black and white I was able easily to mix them together to reproduce the same color of the leather. I applied it with the small brush. it blended very well. I let it cure and the result was incredible. She can hardly notice where the cuts were! this is really a great product. ... show more
