I have quite a few coolers, and am a personal fan of Rtic for their ice retention & budget-friendly prices. Sure, Yeti is 100% a phenomenal cooler, but you get about 95% of the same value at 1/2 - 2/3 the cost with Rtic. That being said, this Coastland Bay Series cooler falls under the same relative quality - I'd say about 75% of what a cooler like Yeti offers at an insanely cheap price. I purchased the 15qt cooler to turn into a live bait cooler, so I was perfectly willing to chance poor quality/insulation, especially after having read some bad reviews, some even claiming that the lid is hollow & not insulated. Well, this is FALSE. I cut a hole in the lid during the making of my livewell for bait and I can prove that it is indeed insulated. The construction is stout and, without any branding, you'd never know it wasn't an Rtic or a Yeti (except for the differently shaped rubber latches). I cannot speak for it's ice retention, as I only use it to keep baitfish cool, but I'd imagine that, given the size, it'd do just fine for half a day or maybe even a full day. This cooler isn't large enough for anything other than a few drinks or a lunch or two, so I wouldn't expect that it needs to retain freezing temps for longer than 10hrs. If you're looking to keep a few days worth of camping meals/beverages around 40 degrees, I'd strongly suggest spending more on an Rtic or something similar but, if you're looking for something to keep a few beers cold while you fish or work, etc., then this is the cooler for you. I'm not sure how they can produce and sell this cooler so cheaply but, if you're looking for a quality rotomolded day-cooler for under;$100, get yourself a Coastland Bay Series. ... show more

I wasn't looking for a cooler that could hold ice for a week. I only need something sturdy and capable of keeping drinks cold for an afternoon on the boat. This little cooler is perfect. I bought the 25qt and it's been used several times on the boat this spring. It's been just what I wanted. This a great cooler for one day trips and industrial lunchboxes. It’s much lighter than other 15qt coolers such as yeti, K2 or Grizzly. Perfect size to hold 13 bottles of water standing upright. Cooler with a two one pound ice packs will keep drinks cold for 24 hours Only negatives is there isn’t a spot for a shoulder strap. The metal handle is great but doesn’t have locking tabs to keep it in the upright position and falls to the side when you set it down. Made overseas but it’s also a 40-60 dollar cooler. Purchased and used 3 times. Each time, the ice lasted less than a day and not even close to what the company claims. I contacted the company and they gave me a bunch of excuses involving the amount of ice, how many times it was opened, etc. How about this: 4 bottles of water with ice to the top, sealed, and left in an air-conditioned hotel room for 12 hours. I bought this as a gift and though it came timely, it was not the quality that I would expect for $140. This one has a handle that will not stand up on its own and it is incredibly light, which leads me to believe that it may not maintain cold as long as it’s competitors. I personally own an RTIC cooler and this is no where near the quality that the RTIC is while being comparable in price. I’d say either save your money and get an igloo or spend a little more on an RTIC or a Titan. ... show more

This cooler appears well designed and solidly built. We just received it, so haven't had a chance to test how long it will keep beverages cold. I would find it much more useable if the water drain had a normal garden hose connection. That way I could use a short garden hose to drain the excess water. Since I use the cooler to hold beverages and ice and carry it in the bed of my truck when we go camping, it would be great to be able to drain the water from the cooler without having to move it. I have had this cooler for over a year and a half now. I keep it in my dorm to keep things such as creamer or cold drinks. It will hold ice for about 2 days which is not as long as I was hoping. On the other hand, I have used the cooler as everything from a foot rest to a step stool....It is just as durable as a yeti. ... show more
