Description

Zero-Clearance Insert Compatible with Bosch 12" Sliding Miter Saw model GCM12SD. It helps to reduce tear-out and eliminates thin cut-offs from being pulled under the factory insert. Made from medium density MDF, painted side red. Set screws are not included. The inserts do not have blade cutouts so you can cut the desired width for your preferred blade after installation.

This insert fit quite snug, which is great. The holes to attach lined up perfectly (there are 4 additional holes I didn't use or need, probably for older saws). I don't think it could have been any better. I am not sure what I will use the other 2 inserts for quite yet, but I know I'm super glad I have them. Since the saw unfortunately does not come with a laser line, and all aftermarket lasers are poor at best for this saw, this will be a fantastic way to align my cuts and get an even more accurate cut time and time again. ... show more

This is a great product. Fits nice and snug in my 12 inch Bosch. Holes aligned perfectly. Yes, it fits with a thou or two gap less than flush with the saw table. So did the factory inserts. Put 2-3 strips of painters tape on the lips of the recess where the insert fits into the saw table and it is perfectly flush. Easy. Will buy again when I use up these three inserts. ... show more

Love having these guys—improves accuracy, safety, repeatability. Saves time, and simply a great value for money. Sure, it isn’t too hard to make some yourself, but getting these as a 3-pack for such a reasonable price was worth it to me.

    • You get what you pay for
They are ok. They are oversized to start with so I had to sand the edges to fit. Not a big deal. However, they are too thin so, they don’t sit flush with the surface of the saw. That was a pain in the neck! I made them work but, I wouldn’t buy these again.

The inserts arrived quickly -- 4 days from order to receipt. These inserts are very attractively priced and appear to be a good value. I've made my own inserts for other saws, but these are a good way to get started. With a 3-pack I can potentially have one insert for 90 degrees and another for a 45 degree bevel. The inserts are made of what I call 3/8" melamine. My experience with previous saws and the use of a similar material is that it will last for quite a while before needing replacement. The use of a zero clearance insert will lead to much smoother cuts with less tearout on the bottom of the workpiece. All in all, this product meets my needs. ... show more

    • Decent but could use some improvements
I have the Bosch GSM12SD 12" miter saw. It works on my saw but I had to do a few things. 1. I had to shim to get it flush with surface of saw. For whatever reason shimming was not same front to back or side to side. 2. These are made to fit old and new models. Because of this, there are 4 mounting holes that are not used on my saw. I cut dowels to plug these holes to avoid them filling with sawdust. They suggest using tape but that creates high point on surface. It would be nice if they simply provided the plugs for unused holes. 3. I'm sure it helps with price, but they're made of very low grade particle board. This may have been part of my issue with getting shims to make it flush with surface. Ultimately they accomplish what I needed but certainly didn't exceed expectations. ... show more
