Images are hard to get the color to show right -- on my screen this appears sky-blue, but it's more of a blue-gray, like the sky gets when a thunderstorm is soon-to-be-imminent -- how appropriate! The umbrella in the folded position is just under 2 inches in diameter, and just over 11 inches long from tip to end of handle. It has a "hand-loop" that is right at 4.5 inches in length when folded, so my fat hand will not fit into it, but all four of my fingers do, and my wife's hand fits easily. The "push-button" that snaps the umbrella open is very strongly spring-activated, so I find that it is best to hold the umbrella while pressing the button, otherwise it SNAPS open with a very fast, strong motion, and it's possible to get smacked by its rapid deployment. Pulling the umbrella closed is easy, and it snaps back into the closed position with an audible "Snap" sound, so you know when it's securely closed. I have not tested it yet in high wind situations, but the 8 ribs are VERY strong, much more durable than most umbrellas are. (the website shows 10 splines, but my umbrella only has 8). Oh, yeah. When you fold it up, it easily follows the lines of the folds and rolls back up into its original shape -- many umbrellas are difficult to get them folded back together, but this one is easy. The only reason for dropping a star from the otherwise perfect score of 5 stars is the color issue -- while the blue-gray is nice, and I'll use it, the brighter blue would have been more appealing and cheerful, kind of a counter-point to the darkening of the blue sky toward a gray sky, instead of blending in with the blue gray sky of the approaching storm. This umbrella is awesome! Ok, maybe I'm just easily amused, but this umbrella is really cool. Umbrellas aren't something I put a lot of thought into, and usually just have the cheapest one around for "just in case". When I saw this available I thought it might be something the wife would like, and I was right. This thing opens at the touch of a button, and it collapses at the touch of a button. Once collapsed though, you still need to push it all the way back down into the handle. Make sure you hear the click, otherwise it will re-open. And I should add, the cats don't like it at all. They cleared the room pretty quick when I opened it for the first time. There are two sizes available, regular and large. I opted for the large, and it is large and we're happy with it. We probably would be happy with the regular as well. When it's closed up though, it's bigger than I anticipated. As for quality, it seems pretty durable, but we will see how it holds up in strong winds. Overall though, we're both pretty happy with it and plan to get a lot of use out of it. And for the current price of $12.99, I think it's a fair deal. ... show more

This umbrella is very durable. It definitely will keep the rain off of you. The pink is a beautiful color trimmed in gold, which is a plus. Looks very expensive. So worth the price. It is easy to open, but closing is another story. It doesn’t close easily. I have to put down on the top for it to snap to close tightly or it will pop right back open. You can’t just pulled down underneath like w most umbrellas. Which can be inconvenient bc your arm gets wet, but it is still worth the price. Maybe that issue will get better the more it’s used bc it is very cute. ... show more

I used this umbrella the very first day I got it. It was a typical massive Florida downpour. Wind, heavy rain and I have to say it impressed me. I don’t know about the mechanisms of umbrellas but I can tell by the construction of the ribs that this umbrella is made to last. I also like that its quick-drying fabric truly lived up to its promise, it dried quickly. The handle is great, it has a non-slip and comfortable grip even in stormy weather, and the one-touch open/close mechanism adds to its functionality. I got this umbrella thinking it would make a good travel umbrella but it’s a bit bigger than what I wanted for travel. That’s on me for not looking at the size. It does fold down and fit into a backpack, large purse or briefcase and that’s what I will use it for and not travel. ... show more

This is a nice looking compact umbrella. When I opened it up the first thing I noticed were the double reinforced orange bars that look like fiberglass. I haven’t had a chance to test it in strong winds yet but it looks like the bars are designed to take a decent amount of force. The umbrella auto closed which is always nice, and the middle part you pull down to collapse the umbrella was pretty hefty and easy to use. My one gripe with the umbrella is that the wrist strap is too short to put my hand through so I can wear it on my wrist. I can only hold it looped around my hand. Strong spring, reinforced ribs, press the button to open and press it again to collapse. You need a little more strength to push the rod in. I chose the personal size, but there is a large size option. The blue is of the darker shade of blue, like in the 6th picture, where the umbrella is open — the upper two slices.
