Just getting the materials out of the box was a chore, but, once I did, I thought I was home free. The directions were clear and all the parts were included. Then I tried to put it together per the instructions. They had you put together the inner pieces by connecting them by dowels, and then put the outer pieces around it by connecting them by long screws. The dowels were not sturdy enough to keep everything together while attaching the sides and ends, and things easily came apart while I was trying to get the outer pieces connected around it. It took a lot of trial and error and repositioning to get everything together. I didn’t screw the outer pieces all the way in until I was sure everything else was positioned correctly. After a few hours, I was successful, and I put it in the closet together with storage baskets. The final end product has been good. It’s heavy, sturdy, and fit well into the space. These are VERY easy to assemble, but will take time if you’re just using the provided Allen wrench. I used our impact drill with Allen wrench bit and assembled this in just a few minutes. Opening the boxes was the most time-consuming and frustrating part of the process—the glue holding the ends together is nuclear strength. I recommend a utility knife to just cut the cardboard. Not even remotely close to being worth the price. The 8 cube is held together with only 4 screws and wooden dowels - no cam locks, nothing else - 4 screws. Every single piece was damaged during shipment, and has an incredibly cheap finish. Those big thick top and end pieces you see? Those are completely hollow.
