This 1L round casserole dish is excellent for cooking my morning breakfast, oatmeal or quinoa. Compared to my 1.2 L rectangular Pyrex casserole, it weighs about 1/2 as much; it is thinner. It's much lower weight, plus its more convenient shape, makes it easier to handle as well as hand-wash. The glass is tempered (the Pyrex is also), so it is unlikely to scratch or scuff. I would have given it a 5-star rating except for one notable exception, gas bubbles in the glass. The first one I received had several (5-6) small gas bubbles in the glass. One of the larger ones was near the center bottom of the casserole. It was so close to the surface it was bulging up above it. Concerned it would eventually break, I accepted Amazon's return/replace offer. A replacement arrived quickly; unfortunately, the replacement has similar small bubbles. Because all of the bubbles in the replacement are quite small, and none of them are close enough to the surface to bulge it, I decided to keep it. I've been using it for about 5 weeks. It has shown no signs of deterioration so I'm optimistically projecting it will last a long time. Jan 31, 2024 Update: I've continued to use this casserole as stated above. It shows no signs of deterioration (the tiny bubbles are stable) and I continue to enjoy its great functionality. I'm quite happy with this purchase. ... show more

This was the closest match I could find to my favorite Anchorware small casseroles that seem to have been discontinued :-( They're the same size as my Anchorware and fit stacking with my Anchorware. This bowl and lid set arrived safely, unchipped. It has very clean design elements. The lid fits the bowl well and can also be used as a small serving platter as well. If you are interested, it can be purchased as part of a multi-item set.
