No issues with this plug. The gauge is just right to use for my above ground pool filter. I used a lower gauge last year & it wasn’t powerful enough to move the water through the filter. I bought this over a year ago, and I've used it almost every day on the job. I'm a sewer technician. Wether it's running a full size rodding machine, rotary hammers, concrete saws, you name it. This has done a great job with everything I've thrown at it. I've never intentionally abused it. But it doesn't have an easy life. I've got no holes worn in the sheathing. The ends of the cable haven't separated from the plug ends, and the locking end is a fantastic touch. I see too many people who tie a knot in their cables to keep them plugged in, and that ruins your ends real quick. Best part about this cord is it doesn't get super stiff when it gets cold. Below 20°f it starts to fight back, but nowhere near as much as your standard big box store cables. Is it a bit pricey? Yes, but a good extension cord that will last is worth every penny. I'd recommend this cable if you are running heavy power tools, anything from your standerd power drills and saws, to high powered tools like large saws, rotary hammers, even the occasional jack hammer, (it's not rated for it, but it took it like a champ, wouldn't recommend that in anything but short bursts.) If you're running a jack hammer or other high power tools day in and day out, I'd recommend a 10 gauge cord. But for your average tradesman this should be more than acceptable. After a year this cable has seen some shitty days. But it's still throwing wall pixies at my tools and probably will for years to come. I'd highly recommend the SJEOW cable if you work in rough conditions, or for anything involving cold weather. It also handles chemicals pretty well. So far pvc primer and a few other cleaners as well as gasoline haven't really done anything to the sheathing. If your on the edge of buying this, hopefully my review can help you out. I'd say get it. Even if your aren't a tradesman. Every home owner should have a good extension cord. It will pay for itself through the years. ... show more
