They’re about two or three times as thick than your average paper towel and way way softer. One side is smooth and the other side is textured so it’s more functionally versatile. It’s big enough to cover my entire face which is helpful when I’m drying my face. It’s great for removing makeup or things like applying toner if you don’t like using your hands. I’ve been using them for almost a year and I’m going to keep buying. The XL size is almost same size as a washcloth, maybe 1" shorter each side. It is soft, very sturdy, and is better than a washcloth if want to use on gentle areas of the body. I have chronic skin problems and I started to think my towels were contributing to that. That's when I found Clean Skin Club and saw how bad towels really are for bacteria. Things have gotten so much better since I swapped out the old face towels for these. My face was already less red and irritated after the first use. Then my adult acne started to clear up, too! I even use these for my body now in place of bath towels. I'll never use bath towels again! These are so absorbent that I only need 1 for my whole body and hair after a shower. And I can still use that same sheet to wipe down the bathroom. Plus, they are biodegradable so you don't have to feel bad about the single-use! I also like to use them to clean my toilet so I can dispose of them after.
