  • Nice but too big for me
Color: Black/Stainless
I decided to return mine! Had been looking forward to this watch for a long time. I'll write a few comments and maybe they will help someone decide about this watch. I had tried this on in person(the black one) and liked it. But when I bought it and wore it for a few minutes, I realized that it looked just a bit too large on me. And when the sun or bright light hits it, it has a bit of shine/sparkle and looks even bigger. Looks fine, but maybe too much sparkle for me. Build/Fit/finish/bezel excellent and everything lined up. I really think this is a nice watch, just too big for me. I love the solar aspect. a few seconds in the light and it started ticking. Watch band everyone says is stiff, which it is a little, but then again, its brand new and I would assume it would wear in. The one I tried on in the store had the same band but it was very flexible and soft, maybe after so many people tried it on? I thought it was decent enough. other con: packaging. I was actually hoping they wouldn't send me the diving tank packaging. but it came with it. It just appears over the top, wasteful, and a little gimmicky. Its cool to see and open a package like that, but lets face it, that is about 30 seconds for the customer. Why not put that money into the watch band, or some other detail rather than into a package that is big and the customer now needs to recycle? Nice watch Citizen, just scale the packaging way down. Any decent smaller packaging would be more than enough. ... show more

  • Very good quality watch.
Color: Blue/Stainless
I've had this watch for almost a month now and I'm happy with it. It looks really good. I'm no diver and will likely never swim with it, but it appears tough enough to weather any condition. The only minuses, and they 're really not negatives, are that the date indicator is too small to read. My eyesight has declined a bit over the years, but its still a very small date indicator. The other thing that I found a bit off is the packaging. The box was dented on one corner, no big deal. However, I thought the box would be sealed like other higher end accessories or consumer electronics. Opening the box didn't give the impression that the watch is really new as there was no seal or protective film covering the watch (I do assume that the watch is new). The divers air tank container is a cute novelty, and does protect the watch during transport. ... show more

  • Nice watch!
Color: Black/Stainless
Very simple design, very well made, and it’s easy to put on and take off. I’ve had a stainless band for years and dirt traps in the links and hinges and it’s hard to clean. This one is easy to clean-run it under cold water and let it dry.

  • An elegant and classy yet sporty watch!
Color: Black/Stainless
Being a tech person and a worker in the AI field, I was constantly hammered with suggestions about getting a smartwatch. I went against all those suggestions and decided to grab this gorgeous watch instead. Best decision ever. This watch just oozes class and elegance that a smartwatch simply cannot. The looks and build quality are absolutely top notch. This is the sort of watch that elevates your look no matter what you're wearing. It's just that good. The added benefit of never having to change the battery due to the watch being light powered is so freaking cool. It's essentially never going to die. I cannot recommend this watch enough! ... show more

  • Classic, robust, and accurate!
Color: Black/Stainless
Every so often, I come across a product that works so well, that suits my needs so perfectly, I can’t imagine being without the item. When this happens, the old military adage, “two is one, one is none” comes to mind, so I pick up a spare. This is exactly what happened when I purchased and wore Citizen’s Eco-Drive Promaster Diver. Adventure awaits you each day when you strap the Promaster on your wrist. With an ISO-certified 200 meter water resistance, this Citizen can handle whatever you throw at it. While most of these watches will probably never see water outside of the sink or an occasional trip to the swimming pool, I have proudly worn the Citizen Promaster Diver fresh water SCUBA diving, snorkeling, and while swimming in lakes. The screw-down crown and well build stainless steel case make this watch more waterproof and shockproof than I would ever need, and that’s a beautiful thing. The ink-black dial on the watch draws you in, like gazing into the deep abyss of the sea. The shiny black aluminum 60 click uni-directional bezel is attractive, and doesn’t have any play or wiggling back and forth. The hour indices are lumed, and outlined with a shiny silver boarder. The syringe style hour hand is outlined in an attractive silver metal, and the arrow style minute hand is outlined in dark orange, allowing you to immediately distinguish the difference, and quickly tell the time. The all while second hand is thin, and unobtrusive as it dances around the dial. The date window is framed in white, and is located at the 4 o’clock position, perfectly aligned with the crown, which pleases my eye. Speaking of the crown, this was the first watch I owned that has the crown at the 4 o’clock position rather than at the 3 o’clock, and I must admit, I am a big fan. I spend more time than I care to admit tripping over things. Stairs, rocks on trails, cleats on boat docks, children’s toys on the floor where I least expect them…my hands and wrists stop me from hitting the ground at least once a day. When I wear a watch with the crown at 3:00, I am often rewarded with pain when that crown jabs into the back of my hand. I simply don’t have that problem with the crown placed at 4:00! The strap that comes with the watch is fine, and works well for diving. Many people will not see a need to change straps, but the neutral design of the watch makes it a strap monster, meaning that it looks good with whatever you put on it. I am a big fan of NATO style nylon straps, and rotate through different colors depending on my outfit or my mood. This watch is extremely accurate. I own several watches with Citizen’s Eco-Drive movement, and there are several reasons that I keep coming back for more. This watch is as accurate as any quartz watch I have ever owned. I reset my watches when Daylight Savings Time comes and goes, and this watch is never off more than a few seconds from when I set it six months before. Unlike most other quartz watches, the Eco-Drive movement is solar powered, and does an amazing job. With this watch, you don’t have to worry about changing batteries every year or two. Wearing this watch outside for one day a week is enough to keep it “charged” up and ready to go. If you store the watch on top of a dresser where it gets some sunlight, you won’t ever have to worry about the power reserve. If you are like me and wear watches on rotation, this Eco-Drive powered watch will work for you. On a full charge, you can store the watch in a dark drawer for more than 6 months without it missing a beat. Simply wear it in the sun for a few days or leave it under a lamp to charge back up. The lume on the Citizen Promaster Diver is impressive. When “charged” with a bright light (like the light on my phone) it will glow intensely for about five minutes, then fade to a level where you can read the time in darkened for about six hours. I love this watch, it and its blue dial brother are on my wrist at least four days a week. If you are looking for an affordable watch that will work flawlessly wherever life’s adventures may take you…look no further. This is the watch for you. ... show more

  • An Affordable Dive Watch for a Terrestrial Being
Color: Blue/Stainless
I wanted to have a sporty water-resistant watch so I purchased this blue Citizen Promaster Dive Eco-Drive Watch. Now that I have it and owned it for a few months, I feel good about giving it an honest review. To put it succinctly, this is an EXCELLENT watch for the money. Advertised at a 43mm case diameter, the watch fits nicely on my slender-ish 165mm wrist and is a comfortable fit. The watch face is quite legible. It has a bordered date window at the 4 o'clock position and is unobtrusive. The crown is also at the 4 o'clock position and does not hinder any wrist movements. As for the lume, it is outstanding! This sucker can glow for hours after being in the sun and as it is an Eco-Drive, power is not an issue. The only nick I can give it is that in some lighting situations, the blue face sometimes appears black. The blue rubber watch band is comfortable but is long due to it being a working divers watch so I replaced it with an aftermarket band and it is now in my watch rotation! Citizen has made a great watch and I am happy to own it. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. ... show more

  • Fantastic watch!
Color: Blue/Stainless
This is my second Eco-Drive and third dive watch and this has to be one of my all-time favorite watches to own. I admit I would really like the $4000 Breitling Superocean but for 20% of the cost this suits me just fine, I love a blue watch with a blue band for paddling and for other outdoor recreation. The dial is easy to read, the case has good heft, and it was a snap to register the watch online plus it comes in the signature dive tank case. I probably spent a month looking at blue face and blue band watches to replace one I’d worn for years and I’m convinced this is the best at this price point. And it’s a Citizen. If you are new to Eco-Drive and have noticed that watch batteries are increasingly difficult to find you will love the solar-powered feature. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • Accuracy & elimination!!
Color: Black/Stainless
I am a 77yr. Young, old Vietnam Marine Veteran. I don’t write reviews much but I must on this “Citizen Dive” ECO-DRIVE. My favorite watch up until this Citizen was/is a “Luminox” because of its luminous & accessory, just right on, but it is battery operated. Well I figured I would try a Citizen “Eco Drive” because it is “Solar” well I have NEVER had a watch in my life that would hold its luminosity ALL night! I don’t take my watches off, it is a second/equal to the Luminox, very bright all night. Accuracy, I got it on the 7/3/23 yes it is only the 25th. of July but I set it with my phone analog watch and it is to the second, seriously! Anyway I am very very impressed with this watch “The Citizen Diver” Eco-Drive 200m. ... show more

  • Very accurate
Color: Blue/Stainless
I set my new Promaster Time synchronized with the US atomic time. After 30 days my watch was fast by 0.31 seconds. All of my Seiko, Tissot, Rolex, dive watches are automatic and all have to be reset once a week for time correction. Finish on the Promaster Is a B+. The lume is sufficient for night diving. I'd like to see a sapphire crystal instead of a mineral crystal. I really like the rubber blue strap and dial. ... show more

  • Good watch for the price
Color: Black/Stainless
I’ve had this watch several weeks now, overall a nice add to the collection and it’s accurate. Took a few hours in the sun to get it fully charged. Only complaint is I wished it had harder glass, something a bit more scratch resistant, but I knew what I was getting when I ordered it.

  • Hard to improve on this one at ant price!
Color: Black/Stainless
I recently purchased a Citizen Men's Eco-Drive Promaster Diver Watch with Date, BN0150-28E. This is the 3RD EcoDrive watch I have owned, the others being the first generation Diver, very similar to this one and a military styled field watch. With that said, both those models are daily wear including military and public safety use and are still going strong. Now...on to this beauty....I ordered one two weeks ago, got it two days later and sent the first one back. Why? No instruction booklet or warranty number on the watch tag. I ordered a second one, it two arrived in two days and again, same thing. I actually called Citizen and spoke to a person in Licensed Sales about this, suspecting maybe Amazon was not an authorized sales outlet. They explained they in an effort to reduce packaging (which is funny as this thing comes in a gargantuan box with a replica scuba tank inside) those aspects of the transaction are now online. My old watches had an instruction booklet and warranty number with the watch. I also learned that registering the watch ONLINE gives you one additional year of warranty so bumping it to 6 years. Now- on to the watch. It is a work of simplistic diving watch wrist art. Very old school, simple and elegant at the same time. You could envision James Bond wearing something like this very functional timepiece. I have big wrists and hands and watches are sometimes awkwardly sized for my wear. Not so with this watch, it is just right, not too big, not to small on my 9" wrist. The lume on this watch is fantastic with the "0" on the outer adjustable bezel being a slightly different color to distinguish it. Each number pip has a discrete bright silver trim ring to further enhance low light veiwability. The minute hand is trimmed in a florescent orange to immediately bring the eye to it and for some nice style points that pays homage to its diving roots. The watch itself is no lightweight but at the same time it is not especially chunky either. The offset stem is super comfortable on the wrist ( I wear mine on the right hand ) The solar panel is a smooth, even surfaced flat black, unlike the earlier Eco-drives which had a bit of "grid" pattern to them. If there was one feature I would say I disliked, it would would be the band. It is a heavyweight, and frankly uncomfortable rubber band. It has a decompression chart printed on one side, that appears to be slightly inaccurate compared to my real diving tables. I was a public safety diver for 6 years and don't see any diver actually using the table when computers are so much the standard these days. The factory band is long enough where it would likely fit over most wet suits without much problem. I'd not hesitate taking this watch on regular diving operations and have take the older version I have on many operations without issue. The first thing I did upon receipt was remove the factory rubber watchband and replace them with nylon 5 ring NATO style watchstrap. The orange strap shown in the pic, really makes this piece "pop" as does the khaki and olive versions I purchased. It utilizes a 20MM watchband. The other small annoyance is the teeny tiny calendar date window. Basically it is worthless, all I can say about that. One other suggestion is to purchase some glass crystal protectors for the watch face. My older model is scratched and chipped from real world use and the glass used on these are prone to damage. I got a pack of these off Amazon for under 10 bucks and they essentially function like a cell phone screen protector. Worth it. In summary, in a world where the wristwatch is falling by the wayside more and more, this rugged, adventure craving timepiece is both a statement and functional piece of EDC kit. It is a "must have" for anyone with an interest in true diving watches or those just desiring a stylish, simple and rugged adventure watch that you will find entering your watch rotation and crowding out lesser types. ... show more

  • Great Watch!
Color: Black/Stainless
I had a version of this watch previously and it was great. I had well over a 1,000 hours at depth with this watch as a commercial diver with zero issues. It eventually broke at the winding mechanism when I was at the gym. The the watches fault but mine. They have since made this watch heavier and made the winding mechanism offset from its previous location making it much more difficult for me to destroy this one. Looking forward to having this watch for many many years. ... show more
