    • Great little coffee maker
My girlfriend is the big coffee drinker, so we have a Bunn pour-over for daily morning use, but for other times, I thought a K-cup brewer would be good to have. This is especially so since I have the Bunn on a timer to keep it from heating 24/7 when it's not needed (yeah, I'm that guy). Aside from one small complaint, I really like this one so far and I believe it will see regular use. Before ordering this, I looked at the reviews for what appeared to be the same model being sold directly by Chulux, since this one from this seller had few reviews. The main thing I noticed a few reviewers complaining about was that it was slow. I don't care if my coffee takes a few minutes, so I wasn't concerned with speed. I've also seen reviewers pointing out that there is no way to know how much water is in it. Well, you have a cup in your hand, don't you? If you use your coffee cup to measure your water, you can never go wrong. I did realize however, on my very first brew, that coffee cups aren't intended for pouring from, and some of them are really lousy at it. The first cup I used dribbled all over the counter trying to pour from it! I had a much better experience with a different cup, so using the cup for measurement is only as good as the pouring capabilities of your cup. As for brew time, from the time I pressed the button, it was 2 minutes 20 seconds before the brewing started and the last drop fell at just past 3 minutes. Not bad if you ask me. I'm guessing water temperature is a factor here. I was using room temperature water from my countertop water filter. I would guess that cold water would take longer. Brew quality has been great so far. No complaints there. This IS a "no-frills" coffee maker, but how many bells and whistles do you need to brew one cup at a time? Water and K-cup go in, coffee comes out. No timers, no phone app, no Bluetooth. Just coffee. Fine by me. The movable (and removable) drip tray is handy, but the size seems a little awkward to me. It doesn't make a bit of difference, but (what I consider) normal ceramic coffee cups sit up on the edge of the drip tray. Still plenty of surface to hold the cup, though. I like being able to put the drip tray in the higher slot to avoid splashing, but I do wish the tray was just a little bigger. It just depends on what kind of cup you want to use. This is limited to 12 ounces, but really, we're talking K-cups here. If you have some big coffee cups, you might want to make sure they don't hold more than a cup and a half - or else you're back to having to measure your water. The compact size of this thing is great. One of the biggest selling points for me. Space is very limited around here, but finding a spot for this has been no problem. There are actually multiple spots in our kitchen and laundry room where we could easily squeeze this in. I don't know if it is in the item details anywhere or not, but this coffee maker uses 800 watts of electricity. This would allow this to be plugged in pretty much anywhere and not have any problems, but you wouldn't want it sharing a circuit with another active device pulling a lot of current. For example, the first time I used it, I actually had to move it because where it was plugged in shared a circuit with my girlfriend's hair dryer and straightening iron, which she was using at the time. That would have tripped a breaker for sure. This goes for any appliance, especially those creating heat. The relatively low wattage of this coffee maker is kind of a plus, really. It's enough to allow it to heat one cup of water pretty quickly, without dimming the lights and melting stuff. For reference, our Bunn is 1600 watts, but it's heating a lot more water. This would be excellent for traveling. The only thing that comes off is the drip tray and you don't even absolutely need that. Just bundle up the cord and toss this in a suitcase or bag with a box of K-cups. Good to go. Overall, I'm very pleased with this coffee maker so far. I'm sure there are other comparable models from other brands in the same price range that might be worth a look but, aside from the slightly awkward (to me) drip tray, this seems perfect for my needs. ... show more

A star comes off because it has no reservoir. Each time you make a cup, you have to fill it, so it is no ready to go first thing in the morning. Aside from that, this item is perfect for small kitchens, singles, or folks who don't drink more than one or two cups of coffee a day. It is dead simple to use and includes a reusable K-cup dispenser in case you want to use your own coffee or for that special blend that simply is not available in any other form. It is not a fast appliance. If you demand instant results, this is not the device for you. For most folks though it is plenty fast enough. This is perfect for the person who only wants a single cup of coffee in the morning, but the real selling point for me is the inclusion of a re-usable pod that you can fill with your own favorite brand or flavor of coffee, either freshly ground at home from whole beans or pre-ground from the grocery store. And, even if there are two coffee drinkers, brewing a cup pf coffee in the CHULUX Slim 2 in 1 Single Serve Coffee Maker for K Cup & Ground Coffee does not take long at all, and each person can enjoy a different flavor, or roast, or caffeine content. The Chulux 2 in 1's slimmer profile is great for for homes with small kitchens and limited counter space, RVs, dorm rooms, or studio apartments. I’m really happy with the quality of this coffee maker. It’s sturdy, I’ve order coffee makers that feel so flimsy and this one is great quality. It’s super easy to use, I fill my coffee mug up with water from my cooler, pour it into the space for the water and add my coffee pod and set it on to brew. It brews my cup quickly while I do other stuff which is a nice change of pace for when I don’t have time to make a pour over for myself. It also comes with a reusable coffee filter cup which is nice for ground coffee. It’s affordable and reliable and I’d definitely recommend this brand of coffee maker it’s been great. ... show more

This is a great little single cup coffee maker. Chulux offers a number of coffee makers and products on Amazon and this particular one is just right for us. It’s very easy to use. Just add water, put your K-cup or refillable cup in, close the lid and press the start button. Make sure you have your cup in place to receive the coffee. This is a great size as it is slim and takes up the minimal counter top space. It’s lightweight and easy to move around if you want to store it out of sight. We like the reusable cup so we can have our own blends of coffees we prefer. If you’re going to order additional refillable cup filters, i highly recommend you stay with the Chulux product. We bought some refillable filter cups made for that other brand name machine and they do not work with this machine. This is a good buy for a slim on cup coffee machine. ... show more
