While we don't have our fresh cut Christmas tree yet this year, I tried this product on some fresh cut greens from our pine trees. The solution is easy to use and mix with water. There was no discernible odor to the product. I accidentally spilled some on my hand and there was no burning or irritation. The fresh greens I cut have been sitting in a bucket with the solution for some time now and there has only been a couple of needles that have dropped from the cut branches. I will update my review when we get our Christmas tree and use this product, but in the meantime so far so good for the test on the cut branches. The only drawback to the product is not having a list of ingredients or at least a general idea of what is in the product. ... show more

    • Real Christmas Tree home and tired of cleaning up needles.
We always have a real tree. I am looking forward to this being a helper to keep the needles on the tree longer. We don't put our tree up until close to Christmas for that reason. I will update this after Christmas with actual results.

I did a bit of a test run with this with a smaller Christmas tree and I would say it worked. Although I should have purchased another tree to see how they do in equal conditions. Overall, my test tree lasted about a month and was pretty happy with the results since they usually die out on me within a few weeks. I'll be using this once I get my real tree in for the holidays. ... show more

    • Of Course I Have Not Used it Yet...
...but will! I used to run a business that put up holiday trees in peoples homes. Every fresh tree we installed was properly treated before setting it up and given water that contained product to extend its life. And our customers always said their trees stayed fresh. Will make a big difference if you use it. Give the tree a fresh cut, and get it in water. (It is thirsty, may have been cut a long time ago!) If they cut it where you buy it, get in in water as soon as you get home. We always set our trees in large buckets outside, (filled with treated water) then hosed them off, let them dry before bringing them in. Happy Holidays! ... show more

Hello friends, I selected this Christmas tree saver for preserving fresh trees this Christmas. This is a nice little bottle. The label is very holiday oriented. For some reason it doesn't tell you what is actually in the mix. Only that you should take caution not to allow pets or children to ingest it as it is harmful if swallowed. Got to protect it from the dogs. It does need to be kept in a cool dark place so whatever the nutrients are they must be sensitive to light. I'm really curious what it's made out of. ... show more

There are no hints as to the ingredients in the product description or on the label, but if this tree saver solution does what it says, it will be well worth it - I think our tree last year was $69 or $79. We have mixed some homemade solutions over the years with different recipes with plant food, sugar, things to repel ants from the sugar, hydrogen peroxide to keep it from spoiling, etc., but I have never been able to tell much difference. We always try to wait a little when the trees come out at the usual places, but if you wait too long, it's harder to find the perfect tree, and waiting too long makes for such a short time "in-house" that sometimes it hardly seems worth it. One year we erred too far on the early side, and we actually had to buy a second tree to make it to Christmas! ... show more

    • Looks promising, but arrived open :(
We like to get our Christmas tree the day after Thanksgiving and keep it up until New Year's, so we are always looking for ways to keep it looking fresh! This Christmas Tree Preserver arrived quickly and looks like it's up to the job. I'll update this review after this holiday season to let you know how it fared...but I did want to quickly note that the bottle cap arrived open. There was a small amount of leakage but not enough to want to return it. Just a heads up to make sure you open yours right away and make sure everything is intact. ... show more

I have to admit, I am a little skeptical - - reason being, there's absolutely nothing listed as ingredients and as far as I know it could be nothing but water. I'm not saying it won't work, just that if a company makes a claim they should list the ingredients to help the buyer determine if there's a fertilizer component in the liquid.
