I bought these to hang outdoor lights. Thinking I could hook the loop through the hole (designed for hanging) on the cord and use the clasp to secure it to the gutter. This would keep it secure in the wind. However, the clasp was too small to fit on the rounded edge of the gutter. I was able to flip it over (use the clasp on the cord and the hook over the gutter) which works but not how I had hoped to accomplish the task. Got these to hang string lights from the gutters. They’re string, lightweight and have survived a handful of storms without shifting or damage. They’re barely noticeable as well.
