Bought to replace customers square base railing. They changed the product but not the description, and the base plates are 3.25 wide in one direction but only as wide as the tubing the other direction. Consequently they no longer come with base covers to go over the bolts. Will check with customer, but will probably be returning the item shortly. Seem stout, but one axis will suffer from lack of plate width. ... show more

This Black wrought iron handrail complements my black iron fence that is built around my pool. I had this 60" handrail posts installed so my relatives who are in their 70's and 80's could grab onto something sturdy while walking down the steps leading to the pool area. I was a bit skeptical of ordering a structural component on Amazon but I'm happy to report these are more than up to the task. They will be used to rebuild my balcony railing this summer and I have zero question that they are structurally sound enough for that purpose. They are built from heavy gauge steel and the welds look good (from what one can tell at a cursory glance, that is; with the coating, you can only go by the outer appearance.) Their low profile construction is ideal for my purpose as they will be tucked against the house. If you're worried about it, you may want to grab some structural certified fasteners and hardware, though I think the included items should be more than sufficient. The only unknown is the long-term durability of the coating. Hopefully it will hold up against UV and won't react with the treated lumber. Time will tell! ... show more

Grabbing things off Amazon can be pretty hit or miss. I was amazed to see the packaging was rather substantial so I have no chips in the powder coating. The accessories are surprisingly helpful... I'm not about to use the level but it's nice to see you could tech use it to install. The instruction manual is printed in legible English in full color and has problem solving tips! Again pretty basic stuff but from a company on Amazon it's nearly unheard of. As for the posts themselves they are straight with no blemishes and a good weld at the baseplate. My use case is not typical so I'm just going to say that they work great and are sturdy when mounted into concrete using the supplied hardware. ... show more

Upfront disclosure: I received this item through the Amazon Vine program for review. My home was largely taken care of before we bought it, but there are some odd things that were neglected. One of those things was a gate and fence in our back yard. The fence and gate had been neglected and corroded through. This resulted in a gate that is not actually supported by posts that connect to the ground. Its a problem for sure. But these posts are exactly what I needed to replace the posts on each side of the gate. They included all the required hardware for mounting them and its a nice bit of kit.
