Overhang covers 11” mattress lying on a 9” frame to within 1 1/2” of floor on each side. Therefore, I do not consider it oversized for a king bedspread, maybe oversized for a coverlet. This quilted, King- size, coverlet set was a holiday gift from my parents to my husband and I. It is the navy color. I must start by saying how beautifully deep the royal blue color is and how the color has remained after several washes. The material is super soft and light weight. Perfect for the Spring, Summer, and Fall. The 3 piece set has a quilted pattern for both the pillow cases and blanket. It really looks very expensive, which I love. I can easily through this in the washing machine and dryer and not have it shrink or compromise any of the fabric. I plan to purchase another color set for my guest room. I like the smoky blue color and the spread overall, but the extra long corners leaves too much on the floor and it looks like it doesn't fit properly. They get in the way and I've tripped over them more than once.. I also prefer a straight edge at the top rather than the scalloped edge on all four sides. I usually order a king size for my queen bed because I like more overhang on the sides of the bed I’m glad I took the size into consideration when ordering the queen on this one because it’s definitely oversized like it says, in fact I think I could have gone down a size even, it’s a little more than what I wanted for overhang.
