This is very good chicken wire for chickens or plants. I use it as a plant cage to protect against squirrels. I'm very glad they provided gloves and wire cutters. Gloves work just fine but I'd recommend using your own or stronger wire cutters. I had a lot of trouble wrangling this by myself and ended up getting a little cut up. The wire hold in place really well, so it was hard getting it to lay flat while I was cutting it and it wrapped back up on me and giving me a few good scratches. I ended up setting a plant on the end of it and then cutting it, but I recommend just having another person help hold it down. ... show more

Loved that the gloves, extra wire and tool cutter came with the product. I used it to put around the bottom of my garden fencing to keep rabbits from eating my lettuce. I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the protective gloves. I’m keeping them for other jobs. The other brand of chicken wire I bought didn’t include gloves at all. The included snips are a little fiddly, but they work. Would buy again.

I bought this in March 2023. I had used the very last of the wire I had purchased from somewhere else. I can't remember where. First thing right off, packaged very well but then they bent down about 6 inches of material and flattened it out so it was not usable. That is wasteful. I hope it was not part of the 40 feet. I am not going to unroll this thing to check to see if it is the correct length. The third thing, I did notice it was pretty consistent in the width unlike the roll I bought elsewhere. The fourth thing I noticed upset me. I cut it to fit the frame and was gently straightening the curve out to flatten it for capture. The wire broke, right at where I cut it off. And as I am holding it and staring at it, another wire broke off so I have a slit in the wire about 2 inches in. What? Fortunately, I have a frame built around it that captures 3/4 of the split part. I would not use this for chickens. The wildlife probably could rip through this. Maybe it is a bad batch or maybe the delivery person did something rough with it. Enclosed with the chicken wire the company includes a sturdy pair of gloves, a wire cutter appropriate for the gauge of wire, and a small round of wire to use to attach the mesh.
