I bought for traveling. The first time I used it, it worked well. The second trip I brought it on it said it had heated up but cold water just dripped from one of the holes - no steam or anything. UPDATE: Customer support was super helpful and replaced, now working and love it!

I only bought this for travel, which means it is not frequently used -- broke down on me twice. When the company sent a replacement (during warranty) the replacement was ineffective without ever being used and the company decided not to replace it since the original warranty had ended. Don't recommend at all - it constantly overheated, smelled like it was burning without producing steam and only really worked maybe a handful of times. ... show more

I am really happy with this. It was easy to throw in a suitcase, and it steams quickly and efficiently. It’s not a huge amount of steam, because it is a small steamer, but for what it is, it works really well! I haven’t had any mechanical issues with it.

    • This is my second one
I previously bought this steamer at a different retailer, but it got fried when I tried to use it overseas with a travel adapter so I bought another on Amazon. I really like this steamer for traveling! It's slightly larger than a flat iron and relatively lightweight. Fits easily in a suitcase or backpack. It is a light duty steamer so I think it's good for quickly steaming a garment before you put it on to wear. It does a good job on cotton and lighter fabrics. I've also used it to steam a wool coat and it did an ok job. The part where the steam comes out gets very hot so be careful. Also the one I purchased from Amazon was very obviously used, which is irksome but I can get over it. My advice to you if you buy this and plan to use it overseas is to buy the warranty Amazon offers. Like I mentioned earlier my first one fried on the first use in Europe and unfortunately I lost my receipt so I couldn't send it in for warranty. None of my other hot tools had issues using the same adapter... just something to think about. ... show more

I bought this last year, the first steamer did not work. The company replaced it with a new streamer, however this one doesn’t work either. They both click, and neither produces steam. Very disappointing as I usually love Chi products.
