The dynamic CHI G2 offers a sleek design, upgraded technology and outstanding performances. The G2 features titanium infused ceramic plates for added durability and an even smoother glide. The 1.25" floating plates allow you to style more hair in less time. Digital temperature reading displayed on a color coded LCD screen allows for proper temperature setting for fine, medium and coarse hair up to 425°F. Ceramic heater with advanced technology for 40 second heat up. Keep the cord away from heated surfaces. Do not wrap the cord around the appliance. Never allow the power supply cord to be pulled, jerked, strained, twisted, or severely bent, especially at the plug connections. The foregoing may damage the cord, including at or near the high flex point of entry into the appliance, causing it to rupture and short. Handle the cord carefully for longer life. I used this chi gold color plated (and now chipped) straightener I got at ross almost 10 years! It just felt like it wasn’t running through my hair very smoothly anymore. This upgrade is very cool, I like the neat colors too lol. It beeps when you press on and when it reaches your desired temperature. Has different colors for when you reach low, medium, and high temperature ranges. It auto shuts off after an hour for peace of mind. And so far, very happy with the performance of the plates. After doing extensive research on the best straighteners in my budget range ($125 max), I couldn't decide between the Babyliss Pro or the CHI G2--but ended up ordering this one since it was a killer deal and the fact that my former CHI had lasted me for yeaaaars. In the end. I really couldn't be any happier with my decision. Now normally, I have very thick/course/wavy/long/frizzy hair---but not after I'm done using this straightener! I don't want to sound like a corny infomercial or anything but I literally only have to go through the strand once before it's perfectly smooth and straight--it genuinely feels like I just left the salon when I'm done. It's super easy to use and it legit shortened the amount of time I usually have to spend straightening my hair. Also LOVE that it came with a thermal mat and automatically turns off after an hour---this was something my other CHI did not have and because I'm guilty of leaving it on more times than I care to admit, I'm especially appreciative of this feature. :) The temperature controls and how it can tell you which temperature you should be using based on your hair type is really cool and definitely could be helpful for someone who isn't used to using a straightener. I also like how the buttons are on the inside of the straightener now so you don't have to worry about accidentally turning it off or turning the temp up/down as your straightening your hair. I honestly don't have anything negative to say about the G2---usually there's always something that bothers me or a feature I wish it had, but this G2 really has it all. Initially I wanted a full titanium straightener, so I was a little apprehensive about getting one where the titanium is only "infused" into the ceramic plates---but as someone who has tried both, I can assure you it works JUST as well. If you're wanting a professional quality straightener without spending an arm and a leg, this is definitely one of your best options. I purposely waited a few months before submitting my review as I wanted to really use it to make sure it held up, did not ruin my hair. I’ve owned expensive straighteners in the past and this one by far is the best I have used! Love the pad that comes with it to protect your counter. Even heat and holds the temp perfectly. Love the swivel handle and long cord! My only little and I mean little annoying gripe is that it takes just a tad longer to heat up than I prefer but hey it can just be my impatience shining through. The iron for the price is ok. I guess I expected too much. It heats well but doesn't leave hair as silky as I expected. Don't know about the durability yet.

It’s a Chi, so there’s not much more that can be said about how this iron performs. It’s quicker to heat up and style, 1-2 passes, if that, is needed, and my style lasts for 3 days w/o touch ups. Now, what I will remark on are two questions I had based upon the reviews I read on Amazon and other sites. I found conflicting posts about this specific Chi, if it had the heat mat included and if it was the original Chi or the Chi G2 version. I posted two photos from the box I received in case someone is wondering the same as I did. Yes, the heat mat was included, and yes, I received the Chi G2. Well worth the money and well worth getting my hair back in shape. ... show more

Great set of straighteners. Heat up fast! I have thick hair but they deal with it really well. I wouldnt say '1 pass', but close enough. Definitely recommend.
