Well, I guess Amazon didn't approve my updated review a few days ago, here we go again. It failed to stay connected to device because the micro USB hardware is cheap and doesn't stay connected as it should in a USB port. Update: 10/27/19 After going through 2, third one started to fall off micro usb port. The male micro usb is cheap on this item. Works well as an otg usb connector. However, it wouldn't charge and use otg at the same time on my Galaxy S4. It might work for some phones for both but I doubt it will work on most. After doing some research there is a standard resistor value that must be used according to the USB specification. I believe it was around 36k ohm. It needs to go between the ID/Sense and ground of the micro usb connector. Also, certain companies change this value so you need to spend close to $100.00 on their docks. Samsung uses 64.9k ohm. I made my own connecter using two resistors that added up to 65k ohm and it worked. Recognized it as a Samsung dock ;) . I think Sony uses 100k ohm. So good luck finding a cable/dock that will do both for your device. ... show more

This was originally for a Galaxy Tab and a K480 Bluetooth keyboard, in order to use a wired mouse and have the tablet sitting sideways. Since this points down (at a right angle to relieve cable strain) but the average male usb connector is an inch plus before it bends. The tablet won't sit correctly in the cradle when this adapter is there because it's sticking out too much. I originally thought this was broken since it didn't work the first 4 times I plugged it in, but it seems to be better now. This is now a useless thing to own until we get a wireless mouse with a small receiver. and paying more to ship it back than it cost would be absurd. I ordered a right angle one by accident and it's $7 to return something that cost $6.35! I won't ever be ordering from CHEN YANG again! The only reason there is 2 stars instead of 1 is because it shipped relatively quickly. ... show more

Works exactly as described and intended. Can confirm it works for a certain Gaming system that HackChi users are trying to install USB Host on. Just make sure you get the RIGHT-ANGLED one. Very small and light - but solid construction.

This angled micro USB OTG was not the best buy I made. The OTG capability has worked for me and I can transfer files from my USB Flash drive onto my phone or vise versa, however, when I plugged it in my phone it was not so secure into the phone port. It is supposed to charge via the micro USB female port (with your own wire), but it does not work. This was the main reason I got this one in particular and I am not happy about that. Works perfectly on my nivida shield k7 tablet......Plug in accessory then plug into the Charging port after that plug in your charging cable and IT WILL CHARGE AT THE SAME TIME.......Btw it's cheap and works what more do you want?

Works great as advertised. Used it in conjunction with a microusb cable to power external hard drive. The male micro USB end is raised which makes it perfect to use with cases on your devices. I use mine on my Samsung Table S2 and my S7 edge. You can not charge your host device with this. It is designed to apply power to external devices like hard drives. it works as a stand alone, but daisy chaining anything to it wont work. i thought to rearrange this and attaching this to amazon ethernet dongle last, but its a right angle dongle and it covers up the ethernet port. so no go. it might work when its a left angle dongle.
