Update: I’ve discovered a trick for the on/off button! I no longer ‘tap’ the flat surface, but run my finger over it. Just slide my thumb from top to bottom and it works! One sweep to turn on, one sweep to turn off. So my biggest con is now resolved! Original Review: Used these to line my full length mirror. It didn’t have enough bulbs so I ended up needing two, but it came out great. It really lights up a room and gives you a better look at your outfit. Pros: -strong lights -easy to install -string between bulbs can be shortened by wrapping around base -if you do wrap the bulb in the wire, it’s designed in such a way that the wire is hidden -Peel and stick -comes with sticky tape for the on/off button too Cons: -adhesive is a bit weak, sometimes I’ll come back home to see one or two of the bulbs have popped off. I just stick them back in place and call it a day. It doesn’t happen often so I don’t see the need to superglue them on or something similar. -the on/off button is finicky. It’s a flat surface with no button. You tap it on and off. But I always find myself tapping multiple times to get it to respond. Or I keep turning it on and off by accident as I try to do one or the other. -cord for the plug isn’t too long so the lights need to be near an outlet, unless you get an extension cord Overall: 5/5 recommend Please like if you found this review helpful ☺️ ... show more

In August 2020- I bought two sets of these for my two bathroom mirrors. They are both used daily. Over four years later- one set is just as it was on day 1. The second set who is in the bathroom with the shower most used now does not reach the brightest light level, however is still dimming perfectly and is still bright when needed. I was very wary of this product based on some of the negative reviews & videos I saw here, but I’m glad I bought these lights in the end! These are bright enough that I could apply my makeup using only my new vanity lights - no yellow overhead lighting required! I’ve attached four photos, all taken at night. The first two are photos of the lights at full brightness with my overhead light on. Third is full brightness with overhead light off. Last is with it dimmed all the way down, overhead light off. All taken with iPhone. It’s so bright my overhead light barely makes a difference in the photos! The dimmer works smoothly, though I will rarely use it. I took one star away because although these are pretty easy & straightforward to install/mount, the 3M tape they come with leaves something to be desired. I was also worried about tape residue staying behind as I was sticking these directly to my wall and not the mirror itself. I will go over a few of the things that I tried! Knowing that I didn’t want to ruin my walls, I chose to apply masking tape to the back of the included 3M tape. By that, I mean I peeled off the backing of the 3M tape and applied the masking tape to it so that rather than the 3M tape sticking to my walk, it would be the masking tape instead which would do less damage down the line if I were to ever move these lights. This lasted less than a day as one or two lights refuse to stay on the wall. Mind you, the masking tape never peeled off the wall – only the light itself did. After about three days of trying and failing to reattach the same lights, I decided to move onto another adhesive. Again, the masking tape was not the issue - it stuck to my wall just fine, so I know it was just the 3M tape that was failing. Luckily I had some scotch extreme mounting tape-if you look it up, it should be a dark gray/black thick tape with a red backing (it is double sided). I cut this off in very thin strips, you only need enough to go from one end of the light to the other as the tape is very strong. I proceeded to apply this to the 3M tape and pressing down to ensure it stayed in place before peeling the red backing off and attaching it to the masking tape that was still on the wall (I used it as a guide to place my lights). Since then, NONE of my lights have fallen off - and I have the added comfort of knowing that when I’m ready to move or reposition the lights, my wall will be protected by the masking tape I attached the Scotch extreme mounting tape to! I wish I had taken photos of the process I used but I hope my description helps anyone out there who is struggling with getting these lights to stay up! ... show more
