The lid did not fit on the jar of Maranatha Almond butter I tried to stir, so i made a mess because im stubborn and still tried to use it. I was disappointed with the product.

I liked that it stirred in the top layer of oil and the top kept my hands and countertop clean. But even after a couple of days of intermittent stirring with this, the bottom of the PB jar was mostly solid. Nonetheless, I am glad that I got it because I can now use my trusty knife to get into the bottom edges for stirring without having to worry about the oil on top spilling. ... show more

The lid is definitely optimized for canning jars, and actively makes stirring store-bought natural peanut butter harder. I tried sliding the paddle out and using it without the lid, and it somehow was messier and less effective than just using a butter knife for the operation. If you make your own nut butter by the pint, it's probably a great device. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Great concept, if only it fit on the jars and worked well. The jars I had, and tried, were common nut butter jars with standard 2 1/2 inch lid sizes, but, as you can see in the video, the lid for the stirrer won't fit to screw on the two jars I have. I did try stirring it anyway, but as someone else noted, it really only stirs the middle, even in this smallish jar, so it isn't any better than hand stirring--in fact, it's worse! Wish somebody would come up with one of these that works, because there's a need out here. Lol Revision on 11/27/21: I was able to find the right sized jar that this actually fits--it fits the Once Again Unsweetened Organic Sunflower Seed Butter jar that I just got from an order I placed elsewhere. The jar mouth opening is 3 inches across, and the lid for this stirrer screws on, or, more like, "pushes on" so you can stir the butter with this stirrer. It actually did a pretty decent job if I wiggled it back and forth from side to side within the slit that the metal stirring wand goes through whilst stirring. After I stirred it that way, I took the lid off again and removed the wand, which was not very messy, as the lid removed the excess nut butter as it passed through the slit, as designed. I then put it back in the jar and stirred again with a bit more flexibility without the slit in the lid being used as a guide. All in all, I got it pretty well stirred with less effort than it usually takes me with just a knife. Putting the actual jar mouth size in the listing for reference so people know it doesn't fit every type of nut butter jar would be helpful, so I've attempted to give that information in this update. It only fit one of the jars of the three types of nut butters we eat, so it's not really as useful as it could've been, although I was able to stir one of the jars with the smaller mouth without this device's lid attached, and it did an alright job with some effort. Wish it worked a bit better than it does in both cases, but it is better than using a knife. Hopefully this will help others decide if it's right for them... 2nd Revision on 3/4/22: I'm upgrading this to 5 stars because this stirrer has made our lives infinitely easier, even without the lid fitting. The wand itself is perfect for stirring nut butters easily and efficiently by just moving it around, stirring it, scraping the bottom and edges, moving it up and down, etc. I'd say it does the job in about 1/5th of the time and energy expended otherwise with a knife or spoon. Just ditch the lid!! ... show more
