    • Locks firmly on the base. No suction cups. I love it.
I love the fact it does NOT depend on suction cups. Rather, it has a nice lock-tight mechanism which holds the mounting post to the base. I am so tired of suction cups which wear out or fall off every time the outside temperature changes. The pincer action has just the right tension and nicely holds my iphone, my TomTom, and my dash cam. I like it so much I am going to buy another for my wife's van. I saw where another review commented it wasn't very stable but I had no problems with stability. My dash cam video is steady. Also, the base has four, flexible petals (sp?) which was useful on my Mazda6 since the dash is oddly shaped. I bend the one petal up by the clock and the other three petals hold the mount firmly. Stays put on my dashboard, no sliding around at all, not even one time, with nearly daily use. The clamp works well. I purchased this to hold 2 different phones (iphone 5s and galaxy) and 2 different GPS devices (tomtom and garmin). You may have to find the right place to clamp it down on your phone so that it doesn't push any of the buttons on the side of the device, but that's not a problem. I like that I can take it off the dash easily and stow it under the center console so that it's not in the way when not in use. Also nice that a passenger can just grab the device while it's in the mount in order to double check directions, and easily place it back on the dash without have to unclip and reclip it. ... show more

    • Beanbag good clamp not so good for my Tom Tom
I Bought it to use on my Tom Tom but the clamp didn't fit right because the power plug on the Tom Tom is right in the center of the bottom and the top of the clamp broke off. I ended up taking the spring out of the clamp and taping the gps to the clamp. I really like the beanbag mount though. it doesn't slide around or fall off the dashboard. It sure beats the ones with the suction cup. The one I had with the suction kept coming loose and falling off the dashboard. I am going to find a different attachment part that fits the Tom Tom and then this mount will work good. ... show more

Suits my needs for holding my iPhone while using navigation apps. Only 4 stars because it's not as heavy as I would have hoped. It bounces and slides a little too easily on the dash, but not so much that it makes it a danger in any way.
