  • Seems to work as advertised
Style: 25 ft Fan Style + L14-30P to (4) 5-20R Pattern Name: Generator Power
Got this to use with my Champion 7,500W Dual-Fuel generator...seems to work well. I have only used it while breaking in the generator so far but it seemed to happily run two 1500w heaters (one on the "red" plugs, one on the "green" plugs) without any difficulty. As best I can tell it has no lights to indicate power is supplied but it does have painted dots to indicate which "half" of the 240V phase the plugs are on. You do need to ideally balance the amount of load between the red/green color plugs though to avoid overloading one circuit and tripping the breaker. I found this seemed to work well putting the generator out on a cement pad that our porch steps end at and the cord reaches up the steps, across the porch, and a couple feet into a window. I tape the remainder of the window opening with masking tape to help seal against any fumes and have a CO alarm under the window so it will alert us if any exhaust managed to somehow get inside. I found the best option for me was to plug one "large" appliance (such as heaters/whatever) into each of the red/green plugs on either end of the 4 plugs. Then I plugged a power-strip for downstairs into one and an extension-cord+power strip for upstairs into the other so I could connect more light duty devices (couple lights, a couple fans, aquariums, phone chargers). Best to get some heavy 12AWG or better extension cords though so you don't accidentally overload them. You can never have too heavy of an extension cord. My one and only "complaint" if you can call it that is due to the heavy wires that this cord contains it is rather inflexable - so running it where you want takes a bit of effort and it would not work well in an area people could trip over it. That's fairly easy to resolve with a bit of planning but something to be aware of. Once in place it does seem to stay put though. Some tech details I had trouble wrapping my head around... The generator puts out 240V with a neutral and ground just like what feeds your home electrical panel. This cord takes one "half" of the 240V to Neutral on a green pair of standard 5-20 plugs and then it takes the other "half" of the Neutral to 240V on the other pair of red standard 5-20 plugs. Although the plugs are 15 or 20 amp receptacles you can only have a total combined of 30 amps 120V power on the red plugs, a total of 30 amps 120V power on the green plugs. This gives you the maximum possible combined circuits totaling 60A 120V or 7,200 watts they advertise. One last note, this cord will not give you GFCI protection...as it states on the label it is intended to be used with the plug going directly into the generator control panel and the "fan" of 120V sockets being inside the house. ... show more

  • Good product
Style: 25 ft Fan Style + L14-30P to (4) 5-20R Pattern Name: Generator Power
Have needed one of these for generator. Sticker shock was a huge issue for putting off purchase. Finally found item at a reasonable price. Could not find variance between it and products in big box stores.

  • Heavy "son of a gun" for sure!!
Style: 25 ft Fan Style + L14-30P to (4) 5-20R Pattern Name: Generator Power
Needed a way to make the 240 outlet useful and this was the way. Splits the 240 volt/30amp into 4 120volt/20amp plugs. Was able to power more lamps and even an extra heater when we lost power for a few hours with the generator. Had bought this for another use but came in handy for use with our generator when snow and ice knocked out the power for several hours. it's a big cord, but can see why it's heavy. As long as you do not exceed 30 amps total you can run four extension cords to where you need them. Have purchased other champion power cords before and they have quality products. Happy with the Champion power cords for quality as well as pricing. Champion cords seem to price lower than other brands that sell similar products. I will tell you that when it gets below zero these suckers get stiff, so plan accordingly and set up before the temps drop to far!! The four outlets can accommodate the 20amp style 120volt plug ends too! 20amp cords have different plugs then the 15amp cords do, just fyi. Thanks Amazon for another awesome product! ... show more

  • Good heavy-duty piece
Style: 25 ft Fan Style + L14-30P to (4) 5-20R Pattern Name: Generator Power
I purchased this to go with my Champion gennie. Well-built, stout cord, molded ends. It fit correctly, and it works. Interesting side-note- The way this is wired, the gennie MUST be on 240 output. The cord takes 120V off of both "legs" of the gennie rotor. The receptacle has 4 outlets, and each "leg" of the gennie output goes to 2 of the outlets. What this gives you is essentially two 2-receptacle 15-amp circuits, side by side on the outlet end of the cord. I like that. The wiring scheme makes it easier to balance the load on the gennie. If one has 2 heavier loads, they can be put one each on the different legs of the rotor. The wiring can be easily seen thru the transparent molded female end. Good idea, and well executed. ... show more

  • Good thick cord that alleviates plugging right into the generator
Style: 25 ft Fan Style + L14-30P to (4) 5-20R Pattern Name: Generator Power
**Update** I stand by the quality and promise of this cord, unfortunately after having it set up and ready to go with my new generator I found that it has the wrong plug even though this is the one that Amazon recommended for my generator. If you are purchasing the Champion duel fuel 4750 Watt CARB compliant generator #76533 then you want the 120volt only cord with the L5-30 plug (part #48034), not this one. On a good not it is a bit less expensive and looks just as strong as this one. Luckily Amazon is good with returns and I should have the right cord shortly. Because of the quality of this cord and what really appears to be solid manufacturing I am not changing the five star rating over this mix up. Good thick cord that alleviates plugging right into the generator. All I do is plug this in with its twist lock capability and run it into the house then plug things in right there. Easy. ... show more

  • Heavy Duty Champion Extension Cord
Style: 25 ft Fan Style + L14-30P to (4) 5-20R Pattern Name: Generator Power
This is a very heavy duty - high quality extension cord. Being 10 gauge wire it is the nearly the size of a garden hose and a heavy cord. The male end of the plug goes to your generator and plugs into your 4-prong NEMA L14-30R outlet. The other end of the cord gives you four 20amp 3 prong 5-20R female plugs (which have cover plugs). Length is 25ft. Cord is not rigid or stiff even with all that copper running through it. Very happy with this cord and works great with our Champion dual-fuel generator. ... show more

  • it takes a good amount of force to plug into them
Style: 25 ft Fan Style + L14-30P to (4) 5-20R Pattern Name: Generator Power
A durable cord, I am currently in the break-in period for my new generator and bought this to distribute the load between all the receptacles and not be confined to just the 4 120 volt receptacles. The female ends are VERY tight, it takes a good amount of force to plug into them, I won't have to worry about plugs pulling out of them at all. I think Champion makes an awesome generator, so I knew I wouldn't be disappointed when I purchased this cord. ... show more
