I read other reviews on here about these towels, and I have to echo the sentiment that you need to wash these prior to using them the first time. When I first got them they didn't seem like anything special but once they went through the washer they were much softer. You can tell these are thicker than normal towels you would find at Target or other box stores and they're much better for using after a shower when it comes to absorbency. Just make sure you give them enough time to dry out. I've heard that you shouldn't use fabric softener on towels due to the "coating" it can leave on them and how it reduces the effectiveness of absorbency but I can't say how true that may or may not be. Right out of the package these are glazed eyes soft. I washed them in cold water. No Downy was used. I dried on med/high with 2 dryer sheets for 40 minutes. I got them out of the dryer and noticed very little lint in the trap. The towels felt a little less soft but acceptable. These are less plush than I expected but we can live with that. I thought long and hard about returning these but spent just as long shopping for the best towels on a limited budget. I think these will be fine. ... show more
