This journal is a perfect journal for young girls who want to express themselves. It's not like some of the other journals where it can seem like there's a lot of coloring, but rather it is a bit more extensive. It comes with a lot of different items that can be used to decorate and make each page personal. The journal can be organized for girls who want to express their creativity, while making each page special to help create memories. I found that the paper is pretty good quality. It's thicker than normal paper so when you use markers or other material that might bleed through, or maybe can be seen from the other side, this paper is thick enough so that you can’t see it on the other side. Although the colors and decorations are fun, it seems like it is geared more towards girls who are on the younger side. But, overall, it looks like it is fun with very cute designs. ... show more

Sometimes it's difficult to get kids to express their feelings. Journaling/Diaries are a great way for them to channel those emotions. This journal presents itself as a fun crafting/toy, which is a great way to start them on the path towards writing into them. I would say that this journal would be a great gift for anyone 6-11 years old. The box says 6 on it, which I think is a good age, but the Amazon listing says 8+. The media could not be loaded. This Is a cute DIY journaling set the pens worked great the scissors are a bit flimsy, the heart paper clips are really cute my daughter (8yr old) loved this kit she still using it after 2 months

    • Seems like it is for a bit younger than recommended.
My friends daughter loves to do scrapbooking and journaling. She is 12 and I did work that this was geared 8-12 year old's, would this be to young for her. The honest answer is yes. It was a bit childish which was a bit disappointing. However, she still had fun with it and that was the most important thing to me. I did like that it provided her with plenty of pens, stickers, etc for her to spend lots of time just having fun. The quality seems decent. I am still glad that I gave it to her an next year I plan to buy her a more mature one for her. I would still recommend. ... show more
