These are very light weight pants that fit and feel good. We have had horrible, rainy weather here and I have thrown these over my normal pants to stay dry while having to be outside(kids soccer). The pockets easily hold my wallet keys and phone while keeping them dry. I like the zip pockets as well. They have washed well. For reference I am 5’9, 200, normally a 36w / 30 long. Ok first off I am 6' 2" 260 lbs and wear 36 - 34 in jeans. These pants fit great around the waist but are a little bit short in leg length which the describe in the description. Now don't let that throw you at all, i have 20 plus years of hiking and outdoor life under my belt and i have never had a piece of outdoor clothing perform like these pants. My brother and I hiked 30 miles in the Cranberry Glades in WV. Snow, Rain & Freezing Rain plus winds at 4300 ft to 2600 ft. and these pants never let me down. from 20 degrees to these pants being completely soaked to frozen and my core temp never dropped. With no fire due to wet conditions my body heat was all i had to dry these pants and withing 2 hours of hiking they was dry completely. i always where my Under Armor Cold Gear when hiking but this trip i left it home to test this product. From here on out in the winter months my Cold Gear will stay in my snowboarding bag Haha. My brother was eating his words on these pants after this trip, beat his North Face gear hands down... and a 16th of the price too. Bad: They sent the wrong size (xl for a 34 waist). The “thick” pants are not usable for skiing; they don’t fit over ski boots and are too thick to tuck into them. The zipper on the left pocket separates without the zipper moving. Good: The thick material is flexible and waterproof. I suppose I might wear them snowshoeing, but I can’t think of another activity for which I’d wear the thick pants. [Edit: They’re decent for gardening when the ground is cool or wet. I’ve added a star, but can’t imagine rating them higher because they dishonestly claimed these are useful for skiing, which was the original reason for the purchase.] ... show more

I normally wear XL but since the review said they run small I ordered XXL and they were still way to small. The belt would not come close to fitting. My son and I both have these pants and use them when we ride our snow machines up here in Alaska. We have ridden in -30 degree, 40mph wind, and ride up to 50 to 100mph and have stayed out for hours at a time and never have gotten cold. We wear mens fleece lined mens leggings under them and they work perfectly. These pants have performed excellent so we just purchased an additional pairs each to have on standby for next winter. The media could not be loaded. A high rise waist design & They are a little long in the leg. The pockets are small but they breath very well and are very snow resistant!! I purchased the lined version of these pants (grey-thick.) They are a great set of pants to either wear over long johns or under jeans in -5 to 40 degree weather. They feel like a scuba suit on the outside and have a soft almost velvet feeling liner. The stitching is able to be felt around my knees when wearing them as my under layer, but it quickly becomes a normal sensation and almost unnoticeable after you get moving. Had to wear a standard size belt and not my rigging or gun belt with them when used as an outer layer. Normally wear 34x32 jeans and ordered the 34, tag shows xl as the size but regardless they fit great. Pros: Fit great Very comfortable Interesting outer texture Blocks wind Repels light amounts of water Never got too hot below 60 degrees Pockets zip up Cons: Belt loops are smaller than a standard outdoor (rigging/gun) belt Stitching around the knees feels strange at first Need another layer if below 40 degrees ... show more

Quality was alot better than expected. I purchased the thick lined ones. They are nice for dreary drizzling days walking the dog. Wore them for an early walk one morning with under armor on and was still a little chilly. Not as warm as my wrangler fleece lined pants but still nice.
