  • Great booster for a single carrier
Color: 1 antenna kit
Unlike most boosters on the market, this booster can only be used on one carrier's frequencies at a time. You can specify which carrier easily though. Restricting the frequency bands allowed Waveform to increase the amplification of the signal to the maximum allowed by the FCC. If thinking of purchasing this device, take advantage of the companies tech support at waveform.com. The will give you guidance on testing your current signal strength and make the determination if you have the signal strength and quality required to successfully use this booster. After the purchase if you send a text to the number in the instruction manual you'll get a link to the software needed to setup the device. As a plus, tech support will reach out to you and offer to help with the installation. Highly recommended that you interact with them to make the process easier and successful. Installation isn't technically difficult, but finding the correct location for the antenna and mounting may add some challenges. You need some basic construction skills to climb ladders, probably drill holes into the house and run cables. I had enough single strength and quality to mount the antenna in my attic, but the typical installation is outside along a roof line. The quality of everything in the kit was excellent. The kit comes with RS400 cable vs the RG11 cable provided with most boosters. This cable has less signal loss, but it a little harder to work with because of its thickness and stiffness. It is a more expensive cable. The kit also comes with two inside antennas; a flat panel antenna and a dome antenna. This gives you the opportunity to experiment and determine which one works best for your situation. Even though two antennas are provided, there's only enough parts to install one. You can utilize the second antenna if you purchase an additional splitter and possibly some cables. Tech support is more than helpful in this respect and will prepare a cart with the necessary parts including a discount. Now the important part, performance. For me I went from 1 or 2 bars on my phone to 5 bars in the areas covered by the indoor antennas. Although the number of bars isn't the ultimate parameter to determine performance, if you're using the same device it does at least indicate improvement. I was more concerned about data speeds and used an internet speed test to test that parameter. There is more than booster performance at play here since you are still limited by the carrier and their infrastructure. I averaged about a 50% better download speed and a phenomenal increase in upload speeds. I went from less than 1 Mbps to 12 to 15 Mbps on upload speed. Since my home internet is through the cellular network, this is significant. I was using VOIP for my phone and prior to this booster is was almost unusable. Now, my VOIP calls are good as they were with the landline for the most part. Bottom line is that I'm happy with the product. I may have gotten away with a less expensive booster, but in my experience, it's always works out better to start with the best you can afford. Waveform also gives you 90 days to determine if this was the answer for you. Take advantage of their excellent tech support before and after the purchase! My experience with tech support was via text messages. There is an inherent delay in responses, but they are reasonable delays and they always got back to me. ... show more

  • Expensive but definitely works!!
Color: 1 antenna kit
UPDATE - July 22, 2019 - the unit continues to impress with continual boost. If anything, the boost has improved on some days (making me think that environment is impacting the cell signal). Regardless, I continue to be impressed with not only the product, but with Sina and the team at the Repeater Store. BTW, had to add that Sina is not just a sales person - Sina is the CEO!! Imagine that, the CEO of a company that took time on a holiday to ensure that I had the best customer service possible!! Definitely a five star company supporting a five star product. Original Post - Make no mistake, this set up is not cheap at $900!! That said I can say without any hesitation, this sucker WORKS! I have a house in a rural area on a lake. At best, I’d get two bars and 4G. Most times, it was a single bar - and even then, there were days when I would lose signal and have data lag or no data at all on my AT&T iPhone. Couldn’t even hotspot to my iPad. AT&T signal simply sucked due to lack of coverage (inside or outside). I purchased the GO-X because of other positive reviews and after discussing by text the needs I had with a salesman (Ray Martinez). Ray had me check out cell signals using the iPhone Field Test mode while I stood on the roof of my lake house. He recommended the unit I purchased due to poor external signal. I ended up installing on July 4th spending about two hours on the roof installing the pole (included with the kit) and mounting the directional antenna to that pole (instructions were not great, but I like to think I’m fairly mechanically inclined so figured it out). I knew where the nearest cell toward was so pointed the directional antenna in that general direction. I then ran the cable down the side of the roof, down towards the deck and through a first floor window to test. After connecting the antenna to the GO-X unit, then connecting the internal antenna, I fired it up. I had to download the GO-X app and wait for the software to update. Not a biggie. Then the GO-X did its thing and after a few minutes, found the cell towards and started boosting signal. BAM - what a difference!! I went from one to two bars with 4G to a full 4 bars with LTE. More importantly, data speeds were not only reliable, but super quick. I streamed Netflix and Amazon Prime video through my cell phone into my iPad (through hot spotting). No lags, buffering, or hesitation. The APP showed 3 to 4 (out of 5) bars of network strength and a boost of 7 (green) to the internal antenna. I then spent the next 3 to 4 hours making the install permanent, including running the cable from the external antenna to the house along some siding down to the deck and then punching through the siding, plywood sheathing and into the drywall where I ran it to the unit. I mounted the GO-X unit below a window (hidden by some curtains) and hooked the internal antenna with a wire running up the side of the window (again, hidden by a curtain). I mounted the internal panel antenna to the wall above the window where it has the best shot at broadcasting throughout the rest of the house. I did have an issue with the internal cable run as the kit has two 30’ RS400 cables. The first 30’ cable was fine to run from the roof of a two story house, down the side and into the great room. The second was way too long for the run from the GO-X unit to the internal antenna. I pinged customer support to see if they could do a trade-in for a shorter cable. No luck there, but the salesperson graciously gave me a coupon that was good for a 5’ cable. All I had to pay was shipping ($13.44). Sina was great in making sure I had the right size cable and then sending me the coupon for 100% off of the cable - with shipping costs only. I am really happy with this product. Yes, it took me nearly the entire day to install, but is well worthwhile. I am typing this review on my iPad hotspotted to my iPhone that is getting full bars and LTE thanks to this product. Bottom line - it works and the customer service has been awesome. I’m glad I invested the $900 to get the best booster out there. ... show more

  • Great product. Great tech support from RepeaterStore.
I live in a single story house in a two story neighborhood, and my house has a steel roof. The outside cell signal is weak and inside it is pretty much non-existent. I have used an old WIlson 3G booster in the past with modest success, depending on phases of the moon, close to the inside antenna. After reading the RepeaterStore guides, I felt the GO X was my best option to obtain a more robust signal throughout my house, considering the weak outside signal. So I bought it in spite of the high price. So far it appears to be money well spent! After installation and initial setup, I had 2-3 bars inside, but could not make a call. With help from RepeaterStore tech support (via text message), I got the best band selected, and now I get 4-5 bars throughout my house, and can text and call make calls! And currently I just have the outside antenna mounted inside my attic, which is far from ideal. (It is aiming at the signal tower through the shiplap siding, not stucco or metal.) I had planned to buy a second inside dome antenna to place in another area, but that does not appear to be necessary. The booster appears to be very well constructed. Installation was relatively easy, as I have very good attic access to the area where the doner antenna and the dome inside antenna are mounted. Horizontal separation is probably 30-35 feet, and the vertical separation is minimal. Not ideal conditions. But it WORKS!!!! The Cel-Fi Wave app makes it easy to set up the booster and see data to show what the booster is doing. Much better than just the blinking LED light on some other brands, like the one in my RV. Again, thanks to the RepeaterStore for helping me configure the setup to best suit my carrier. Read the guides. If you have a weak outside signal and only need one carrier at a time, this is a great product. ... show more
