personally, I changed the socket. First, let's address the appearance of the fixture. Fabric may look nice but it isn't easy to clean. Especially the inside, whiter, 'fabric' which reminds me of the backing my grandmother used to use when she fixed her living room drapes. It's fabric but it's very stiff. And that's fine. the only problem is if it gets dented. the dent doesn't smooth out and the damage will always be visible (this happened to me). Just be careful and you will be fine. As for cleaning, just use a vacuum brush. Don't use water. Water will smear the dirt. A vacuum will do just fine. As for the rest of it, the measurements and the photos provided by the Seller are accurate. So, why did I replace the socket? Because this fixture is not UL underwritten. It has no ground wire. Now, it may be that a ground wire isn't completely needed but I was a Boy Scout. Be Prepared. I replaced the two wire socket with a three wire socket. Much safer. ... show more
