  • Perfect "dumb" phone for a grad student that needs focus
Coming from a flip phone with only talk and text, this thing is a fantastic way for me to keep the dumb phone philosophy and be able to use smart apps again. Just keep in mind that out of the box the thing is bloated to the brim with google spyware and is a slow, unresponsive battery pig. It took me hours to disable these apps and replace them with functioning open source apps from F-droid. Now it's just as responsive as my wife's iPhone and the battery lasts longer than hers now too, around 2-3 days with moderate usage for me. Some apps and webpages aren't properly developed for such a small screen though and can get cut off, but I can usually find a way around it if needed. Typing anything on the phone either using T9 typing or the onscreen keyboard is also perfectly inconvenient and uncomfortable enough that you really won't want to use it for media consumption, but everything does function properly and you can use smart apps when you really need them. Also since it runs android you can also use tools like universal android debloater to hard disable any app you want such as the browser or all the uninstallable google apps like YouTube. However I haven't found this to be necessary for me so far and I do want to be able to use these apps if I need them on the go. Other pros: It has a removable battery, so I bought a few extras to do battery swaps, so "charging" takes about a minute with this setup. Another small bonus is that I have better posture using the phone due to the positioning of the screen. Also, can we talk about the price? I'm pretty sure this phone MSRPed for around $300, but it seems like they are just trying to get rid of them now with these too good to be true prices. Modern day smartphones seem to be designed in every aspect to control the user rather than the other way around, big screens and a user experience that is way too easy and seamless. This phone allows me to use smart apps while also regaining the control these devices have taken from me by making the user experience clunky and painful enough that I want to spend as little time on this device as possible. ... show more

  • Physical Keyboard basically unusable.
If you're someone who is considering grabbing this phone because you're looking for a "dumb" phone option while still having the select few apps (Signal, Banking, etc.) you need... You're right, it'll technically do that job. But as an 90s kid, one of the things that made me most excited was going back to basic T9 texting where you can hammer out texts with physical buttons with one hand while barely needing to look at the phone. If that sounds like you too then... sorry bud this phone sucks. OG T9 texting: T9 would guess your word based on the keys you pressed and could even extrapolate based on common fat-fingered/misspelled words, and even include punctuation and appropriate capitalization, just hit space to move on to your next word and keep blazin. This T9: Android tries to predict what you're GOING to type before you even complete the word. So in my case, for some reason when I'd type "4 7" to write "is" it'd expect me to finish the word "grandma" and fill that. Also, you can't just hit space to confirm what you wrote and move to the next word. If you do, it just selects the first letter of the key. So if you hit 8 4 3 for "the" and hit space, you'd just get "tgd." You'd actually have to hit the round 'enter' key in the middle of the d-pad to confirm what word you wanted before hitting space. Additionally, this T9 doesn't add punctuation or capitalization, and hitting Shift just would change you to the "Abc" typing instead of doing a Shift/Caps T9. It was so unbelievably poorly programmed that I had to go back to the -really- og way of typing where you had to do multiple taps to cycle through each letter... and doing THAT was actually like twice as fast as dealing with this horribly programmed T9 keyboard. I couldn't find any other 12-key keyboard programs on Android that made it even a little better so after a week I just gave up... I was hoping that I could have a flip phone with Snapchat, Signal, Banking apps, and my Calendar... but it looks like that's too much to ask. P.S. The processor/RAM was also so poor that it'd take approx. 30sec to 2 minutes just to load a single, photo snap (not even a video). And Signal wouldn't load or allow reactions to messages. Nothing worked smoothly... just a huge disappointment :/ ... show more

  • Perfect!
The phone came in perfect condition! Not a scratch on it! The buttons all work perfectly and the touch screen works great. It was also very clean. It looked like it hadn't even been touched. I am very happy with my purchase and this seller!

  • Whoever inspected mine didn’t bother checking if it worked.
Not sure if the inspector was high on meth or special needs but the phone powers on but just gets stuck on “CAT, powered by android go addition” repeatedly even after resetting multiple times and taking battery in and out multiple times. REALLY glad I’m getting this as a backup phone if it was my main phone I would have been piped. Don’t buy from this distributor, do yourself a favor. ... show more

  • big boi n thick! debloat to save battery life
for $45 this is a good deal to have a backup phone, use universal android debloater to uninstall apps if you don't want to root it. my battery life went from lasting 3 hours to 2 days overnight. I only text & call. if only they made a clear case it would make the device so pretty when you add stickers on it and a keychain! the device is quite large so people who like small things may return it. and too thick to have in pockets! overall, this device suits my needs 4/5. if you want a replacement phone expand your options. ... show more

  • Works as advertised
The phone works as expected and is in better condition than a "new" one I bought from another vendor. Shipping was delayed on the sellers side however they refunded my shipping without even a word from me. Good expierence overall.
