  • Not for anxious dogs.
I purchased two of these crates/end tables. Me and my wife have developed a love hate relationship with them depending on which side of the couch you look at. Pros: Super easy to assemble we slapped these bad boys together in about 30 minutes. People don't even realize they are in the room with the dogs until they pop their heads up. (pembroke corgi and a terrier mix) They provide a lot of surface area on the top for plants and pictures. Easy to clean as we bought ones much larger then needed for our dogs. They fit perfectly with our decor. Cons: This is not so much the fault of the manufacturer but overall an issue with materials. Our corgi has been crate trained since he was 8 weeks old. He absolutely loves his new big dog crate and has had zero issues with it. However our terrier who we adopted from the shelter is not so much a fan of crates. He chewed through the initial door and scratched the bottom badly withing a few days of it arriving. We purchased another door and have been working on crate training with him specifically and it is going much better but due to this we found the major con. The stain they used on these crates are of a particularly low quality. Anything abrasive will eat right through this stain and leave bare wood. Will I purchase these crates again? Yes as long as they last a few year however I would likely seal them before I brought them into the house to protect not only the finish but the unusually long gassing off period they had. ... show more

  • Great purchase
Super easy to put together; everything lined up just like it should; everything clearly labeled; no mistakes were made. As with much of everything we're trying to purchase lately, stuff just isn't in stock in stores. So, on to Amazon I went. I wasn't looking for one of these "fancy" dog kennels, but it showed up in my search and the price was so comparable and the reviews seemed okay, so I went with it. I'm so glad I did. I was scared the kennel would be too small for my heeler, but it's perfect. She has plenty of room to roll around and lay upside down just like she likes. In our new construction home, this is much more attractive than a metal kennel, not to mention, this is a lot less noisy. My son appreciates the quietness. I highly recommend this. It's a little dark inside compared to wire kennels, but after coaxing her in a few times, she has warmed up to it just fine and goes on in whenever she wants to now. ... show more

  • Missing Holes
I assembled as instructed every easily until I got to the last side! It had no holes for the dowels to fit into. I needed this crate ASAP so I didn’t want to hassle returning or waiting for a replacement so I sawed off the dowels. If needed I’ll add brackets but with the top and bottom in place I think I’ll be fine. The area inside is a lot smaller than I expected but for a “Large” crate this is ok for medium dogs up to 45lbs. I don’t think I took into consideration my dog who has separation anxiety may end up destroying this crate by chewing it. It’s very cute tho! Matches my decor perfectly! Easily slides across carpet to move if necessary. The lock isn’t quite sturdy so I may replace the hardware for something better to fit my needs. Would also be cute without the swing door attached. ... show more

  • Seemed fine at first.
This kennel looks very nice and is the perfect size for my 45 lb Cattle Dog/Corgi mix. I definitely would say this should not be used for dogs that do not like being in a kennel because the sides and door are made with thin, soft plywood and could not withstand much. Putting this together was not simple and requires another person to help. Another thing to note, do not put the door on unless you absolutely want it on. Getting it off was not easy at all and very nearly damaged the top. ***UPDATE*** I changed this from a 4 star review to a 2 star, because the paint is already chipping a lot after about 3 months. ... show more

  • Buyer Beware!!!
This crate looked nice and was somewhat easy to assemble but that is the only positive remark I can say about this crate. It only lasted for one use. It was not sturdy at all and my border collie chewed right thru it the first time we used it. I only had it for one day!!! I should also note that he was able to get the front two legs and head thru and the back half of his body was trapped, so he was stuck probably for several hours. He threw up wood splinters and blood the next day, so I do not recommends this crate at all!!!! Don’t waste your money like I did. The quickest $159 I ever blew!!! I have included picture to show the damage. I only wish I had taken picture to show how the dog was trapped, but I was anxious to get him freed as he was crying and anxious!!!! ... show more

  • Attractive But Big
The crate arrived on time and not too well packaged. Although the box was battered, the contents survived. All of the parts (especially the fittings) were present and in the correct numbers. It is larger than what appears on the website, and although the provided dimensions are accurate, it is still a large crate. For our Jack Russel Terrier, it could stand to be about six inches shorter. The reduced height would also enable it to better serve as an end table. Tightening the top panel's screws is challenging as they are placed against the side panels with little room to manage the fittings. Finally, the latch is very flimsy, but so far, out dog enjoys the crate. ... show more

  • I love my crate
I love my crate! It was fairly easy to put together. My only complaint is that the door latch doesnt line up perfectly to the... Latch holder? I just have to lift the door up a little to latch it. Other than that, I love it, my dog loves it, and people who come over love it. I got the large black one and I think it looks really good. I have a 60 pound Australian Shepherd and he fits in it well. There's not room for him to move around too much, but it's a perfect size for him to stand up, turn around, and sleep. I wouldn't leave him in there all day though. Hes not a big chewer so I don't know how well it would hold up against that. He also doesn't try to get out of it since I'm in the bed right beside him. Not the best quality wood, so it might not stand a chance against a strong dog. ... show more
