• Organic life.
Flavor Name: Chicken & Sweet Potato Size: 4 Pound (Pack of 1)
I recently switched over to a organic life I got tired of being poisoned with gmo foods that just cause respiratory problems and the list goes on… but I though about it if I’m healthy my dog needs to be healthy so she lives a disease free life. She loves this stuff, stands on two legs like she’s about to receive a treat she’s a German Shepard btw. ... show more

 • Pricey but Organic
Flavor Name: Chicken & Sweet Potato Size: 18 Pound (Pack of 1)
With many dog foods laced with pesticide residual (visit EWG.org for info) Castor and Pollux is one of a very few organic, grain-free brands available. My dogs love it and do well on it. I wish it were more reasonably priced. The biggest problem I have is getting the product when promised. It’s usually 2 to 3 days late. ... show more

 • The only brand my elegant lady will eat.
Flavor Name: Chicken & Sweet Potato Size: 10 Pound (Pack of 1)
Our dog selected this brand ten years ago when we first adopted her, at age four. She has stood by her selection ever since. At some point she switched to the Senior variety, which seemed even better to her (but is now unavailable). It has kept her healthy and happy into her advanced years....so we are trying to stick with it. ... show more

 • ALARMING FDA AKC STUDIES! EXCESSIVE PEAS+PEA PROTIENS ASSOCIATED WITH FATAL CARDIOMYOPATHY CDC
Flavor Name: Chicken & Sweet Potato Size: 18 Pound (Pack of 1)
I JUST first learned about this Canine Dilated Cardiomyopathy possibly due to the amount of peas/pea protein especially in older dogs and the most deaths are Golden Retrievers! This is an alarming video online from Head Veterinarian for the AKC American Kennel Club! SHOCKING! This led me back to this site dissecting the ingredients of Organix Dog Foods. Merrick 1 of 16 listed Brands NO MORE PEAS!! I then searched and discovered that Stage 2 of CDC causes arrythmia of the heart. My Golden Retriever passed away almost one year ago and was a patient of a top highly esteemed renown dog cardiologist in the Midwest region, who founded our top emergency hospital in St. Louis County, Mo. She saved my sick dog's life and extended our precious time together for more than three years. My dog developed ARRYTHMIA in his HEART and on heart medication called sotalol for 3+ years. This miracle drug 2x day controlled his arrythmia and his cardiograms and Holter Vest monitor tests (used for dogs consists of a special vest containing the monitor attached to several ECG lead wires. It is painless and unobtrusive) became better with this miracle medicine! My dog was 16 when he passed away from laryngeal paralysis, a common incurable disease in elderly dogs like mine, for which he could not have survived corrective surgery at 15 or 16 years old. I also have a young Golden Retriever 2 1/2 and a Great Pyrenees Mountain Dog 5. All of my dogs, including 4 years ago passed, a Harlequin Great Dane who lived to 11 years old, a rare long life for a Dane, were raised on Organix Dry and Canned Foods, organic vegetables and occasional organic cooked chicken. My dog's cardiologist approved my dog's diet at the time. This was before any alarming news about peas in dog food possibly associated with Canine Cardiomyopathy. I fed my dogs this dry Organix Grain Free Chicken and Sweet Potato Kibble in the mornings and my own Organic Rotisserie or Roast Chicken in the evening with baked Organic Sweet Potatoes and vegetables for dinner every night. I am extremely blessed to have had my soulmate Golden Retriever Angel Dog live to the age of 16. Sadly, he was sick for many years, with heart disease! Based on what I have learned, I am discontinuing all Organix foods as they all contain the 5th or 6th plus 10th ingredients of peas and pea protein. Even the Oatmeal and Barley with grain has the 6th ingredient as peas. Who Knew? I have no idea why the majority of dogs that died (according to the Head Veterinarian of the AKC) were Golden Retrievers! I am partial to large breed dogs but would never risk any other dog developing fatal heart disease or arrythmia in his heart ever again. It is traumatic, suffering for a dog or human, rushing to the hospital at all hours of the night and terrifying! Very expensive! At Whole Foods they sell whole USDA Organic Rotisserie Chicken for $12.50 every day. It used to be $10.00 but went up due to inflation. I have two BIG dogs, but I can tell you this chicken is less expensive than shared cans of Organic dog food, SO MUCH BETTER, PURE AND HEALTHY! It is several dollars less expensive than buying an Organic chicken and cooking it yourself. I will have to find a new dry dog food for my dog's kibble meal. Our precious dogs are our children in fur coats and our family. They deserve to have delicious healthy food and nutrition! I am going to consult my veterinarian to find a SAFE ORGANIC dry kibble for them and continue the human grade all Organic chicken, sweet potatoes and veggies for dinner. If I don't find a safe alternative, I will make a recipe with added supplements, vitamins and some organic safe fruit for breakfast meal. Cooked eggs are perfectly safe for dogs, according to the AKC, WEB MD, a great source of nutrition, as a SUPPLEMENT to a meal, high in protein, fatty acids, vitamins, and fatty acids that help support your dog inside and out. I PRAY this HELPS SPARE SOME INNOCENT LOVING DOGS FROM SUFFERING AND FAMILIES!!! <3 ... show more

 • My go to dog food
Flavor Name: Chicken & Oatmeal Size: 4 Pound (Pack of 1)
THe organic kibble market is a little slim, and I am not a believer in grain free diets (humans and dogs have been eating grain virtually our entire existence). But, I don't like when arbitrary grains are used as fillers. This kibble does not have the common fillers found in some organic kibble and is a good percentage meat. I like the oatmeal because it's food-grade grains. I do mix it with Stella and Chewy's raw freeze dried and together my dog thinks it's irresistible. I think there is a lot of benefits to a raw diet, but it can get quite expensive and I think exclusively raw is a bit overboard, so this mixed with some raw pellets is a great solution. In a hurry or when I was waiting on an order of the raw brand I use, I have used this kibble alone (minus the dental health mix in) and she likes it just fine by itself. If you want a high quality organic dog food, this is the best I have found that is readily available at most retailers. Remember, dogs are like kids, if you let them eat whatever they want they will choose salty and sugary stuff. Even if you dog doesn't like this at first (sometimes dogs don't like the switch), it's important that you control your dogs diet. Dogs won't let themselves starve, but they will test you. So if you are committed to making a healthy change and worried they might not like this over all flavory filler junk in the main brands, make the switch and don't give them anything else. Withina couple of weeks they will salivate for this stuff like they do the crap stuff (that is made to make them addicted). That said, I have switched brands and flavors (used to use the tender and true, but they have a particular filler ingredient on my "not great" list relatively high up on their ingredient list) and my dog has never stuck her nose up anytime I switched to Organix. So five stars all around. High recommend the flavor WITH oatmeal. Unless your dog has a confirmed grain triggered allergy (far less likely than we are led to believe), this flavor has the best mix of healthy ingredients. ... show more
