  • Great watch packed with features
The media could not be loaded. I love this watch! I have been wearing a smart watch ever since the first Apple Watch. However, lately, I've found I wanted to try other watches. I was getting tired of always wearing the same watch every day and having to charge it every night and even then sometimes it would still die in the middle of the day. I found I didn't often use most of the features of my smart watch. And, definitely nothing I couldn't do on my phone. The one thing I DO use a lot is the timer function. So, I started hunting for a cool digital watch that at least had a nice timer function. I did a lot of research online and found that a lot of people love their Casio watches. And, this one seems to be a hidden gem at a very affordable price. Most watches at this price point do not have all the features of this one. For me, the main thing I wanted was an easy to use countdown timer. And, this one has it just a single button press away. I use it to time the brew time of my coffee. So, I needed to be able to set the timer down to the second. And, to my surprise, a LOT of watches only let you set hour and minute for the countdown timer. But, this one lets you set the seconds as well. You change the active feature by pressing the "mode" button. It cycles through the features in this order: countdown timer -> stop watch -> alarm -> dual time I wasn't really looking for a dual time feature, but I rather like it and I'm finding it useful. I'm a web developer and often work with UTC time. So, I have the dual time on the watch set for UTC time. When the dual time mode is selected, it shows both the selected dual time (UTC for me) and local time so you can see both times at the same time. The watch it easy to read and has a great backlight function. The backlight illuminates just the numbers/letters and not the background. So, they glow in a kind of cool eerie way. I love it! :) And, if you have the "auto light" feature activated, the watch will automatically turn on the backlight when you raise your arm up to look at the time. Rather cool and very much like how the watch face activates on smart watches. This auto light feature can be toggled on/off by holding the "split" button down. The watch face is a bit smaller than my smart watch and I do wish it was just a bit bigger. But I have small wrists and didn't want sometime too big (such as a Casio G-Shock) as it would look like a dinner plate on my arm. There are some watches that seem a bit bigger but they lacked the features I was looking for or I didn't like the design as much. But, I'm very happy with this watch. I like the band that comes with it but I opted for a 3rd party stretchy braided nylon loop type band. It's adjustable and I love the look. It was easy to swap out the band and I look forward to trying other bands. There are TONS of band options here on Amazon - just look for ones that support 18mm lugs. ... show more

  • Excellent watch with great features
The w93h is a great watch with useful features. It’s comfortable, easy to use, and has a shockingly good backlight. The 90s outdoor sport watch vibe is charming, and it looks great on an inexpensive 18mm NATO strap. This might be my favorite Casio. It is a small watch, but its very easy to use and doesn’t cramp my fingers. It is highly readable and the pushers are comfortable to press. All the functions are clear and easy to learn. The button labels are effective. It fits my small 6.25inch wrist very well. People with large wrists might want something larger, (but small watches are in fashion again, so you don’t necessarily have to wear a g-shock the size of a tractor tire). I included a pic next to some common watches I have. The w93h looks smaller than the calculator watch and Hamilton khaki, but larger than the f91. The digits are highly readable, including the day date digits, and each screen is laid out well. The dual time screen is great because it clearly shows both times. The timer and stopwatch screens are also very readable because the layouts aren’t cramped. The backlight is fantastic. It’s bright, clear, and easy to use, due to the dedicated light button, and optional wrist movement-activated auto-light. (The auto light setting disables after 3 hours, so it won’t run down the battery in the day. Great feature!) The screen inverts and the EL backlight shines through the digits, so it looks like the digits are glowing, rather than the space around the digits. All EL backlights should do this! The only flaw with the watch is that the auto light feature uses a micro switch or sensor that makes a rattling sound. It’s almost inaudible, though. (It’s the sound you would expect if you shook an anolog watch with a dislodged hour hand.) I think this is just unavoidable. (Maybe it would be dampened in an expensive watch.) The strap it comes with is good. It’s very comfortable and looks somewhat premium. It has accordion bends and an inset texture. The material is soft like rubber. The clasp is plastic, but seems pretty sturdy. I think the stock strap would last a long time and is definitely wearable. The strap is too long, though. The tail goes far past the side of my wrist, beyond where the keeper can keep it flat. This watch is small, and is most likely going on small wrists, so there’s no good reason to have such a long strap. People with 8 inch wrists probably won’t wear this, and I doubt this would be worn over a wetsuit or thick coat. It has normal 18mm lugs and spring bars, so nato straps fit fine. I think it’s a great way to wear it. It looks good on sporty and military-looking straps. In terms of durability, this really feels like a beater watch that just works. I don’t know how tough it really is, since it’s not popular (there are almost no YouTube videos on it). 50m WR is more than enough for 99.9% of people. The acrylic crystal is the weak spot and will definitely get scratched, but I don’t see how this thing could outright break in normal use cases. This is a great Casio and deserves more attention compared to the f91s and square g-shock types. ... show more

  • BEST watch ever! Much smaller/more practical than G-Shock! Easy on wrists for pushups, doesn't snag
As you can see from the photo, this watch is much smaller and more practical than a Casio G-SHOCK! I've owned many G-Shocks and other men's watches over the years and this watch is 10mm smaller in diameter (35mm vs 45mm+). That's great! FIIIINALLY I can have a good, solid, durable athletic watch with ALL THE FEATURES I WANT (time, stop watch, count-down timer with auto-repeat option, etc), and withOUT snagging on everything, jamming so much into my wrists during pushups, and being so heavy and awkward it impedes my physical activities. I LOVE this watch! Lastly, it has such a large amount of space where the band connects I am confident it will work well with a high quality NATO nylon strap which will last for many years once this resin one breaks in the next 1 to 2 yrs (as they always do, since I wear them 24/7). Anyway, just look at the picture. It says a thousand words! ---- Update: watch band broke in half yesterday (3 Feb. 2021). I bought it 30 Aug. 2019. So, that's just over 17 months, or 1 yr 5 months. Anything over 1 yr is good for a resin watch band. Now I'm looking for a replacement band. If you have a recommendation, in particular for a resin one like this so it doesn't start to stink and grow bacteria when it gets wet (I wear it 24/7--incl. swimming and in the shower), please post in the comments. ... show more
