Description

The timeless style of a 3-hand analog, combined with the sophisticated look of a multi-dial watch. The 1 second chronograph gives you stopwatch functionality, without the need for a digital display. The Casio Aviator stainless steel men's watch combines the timeless style of a three-hand analog with the sophisticated look of a multi-dial watch. This large round watch measures 42mm wide (1.65 inches), and it's complemented by a stainless steel bracelet band that mixes brushed and polished finishes. This highly technical timepiece includes a rotating slide rule bezel, and a chronograph that measures events down to 1 second. The black dial includes luminous hour markers, small minute indexes, and luminous-tipped gray hands (with orange seconds hand). Other features include a ±30-second accuracy per month, scratch-resistant mineral crystal, and water resistance to 50 meters (165 feet)--suitable for swimming but not for diving. P.when('A').execute(function(A) { A.on('a:expander:toggle_description:toggle:collapse', function(data) { window.scroll(0, data.expander.$expander[0].offsetTop-100); }); }); CasioWith the launch of its first watch in November 1974, Casio entered the wristwatch market at a time when the watch industry had just discovered digital technology. As a company with cutting-edge electronic technology developed for pocket calculators, Casio entered this field confident that it could develop timepieces that would lead the market.Today, Casio is focusing its efforts on solar-powered radio-controlled watches: the built-in solar battery eliminates the nuisance of replacing batteries, atomic timekeeping means the users never have to reset the time. Recently, Casio launched a series of Bluetooth watches that sync to the users cell phone to automatically update the time. Casio is always moving time forward. See more

  • Classy watch, especially for the money!
I absolutely love the value of Casio watches and believe everyone should own at least one...or a dozen. The Casio Slide Rule Chronograph is no exception and offers a lot of class at an affordable price. THE GOOD: It looks stylish with excellent contrast in the design and color scheme. The orange second hands and bezel accents are a lovely addition. The chronograph functions flawlessly, and the added "click" when pressing the pushers is a nice touch and serves as confirmation that the buttons were properly engaged. The hour and minute indices around the face are easily-readable, which should be an imperative consideration in any watch. Oh, and it will garner compliments from friends, strangers, and pesky insurance salesmen trying to butter you up. I have not submitted it to aquatic use yet, so I cannot comment on its water resistance. Though, this watch will probably not be one I grab for fishing or other water-related activities. THE BAD: The bracelet. As numerous other commenters have shared, the bracelet feels cheaper than Dollar Tree flip-flops. It functions for its intended purpose and is nice to have when you want to go for that look. However, I replaced mine with black-and-pumpkin silicone band from Barton, which pairs beautifully with the existing color scheme (pictured). Leather bands also look excellent on it. As other commenters have shared, if you are looking to actually USE the slide rule functionality for actual, real-world calculations, you may be out of luck. The slide rule indices inside the rim of the crystal are incredibly tiny, very hard to read in anything but good lighting, and are positioned at such an angle as to make them nearly impossible to read in general. So, if you're buying this for the purpose of on-the-go mathematics, best to keep looking (perhaps towards the Casio Edifice line). Overall, though, I am very pleased with the watch and happy with the purchase. If you are wanting a stylish chronograph watch that is reliable and won't break the bank, I highly suggest you purchase it. ... show more

  • Impressive watch. Solid bracelet.
Hard to beat the value—certainly with a functioning sliderule bezel. About that bezel, yes, the numbers are tiny. The sides of the inner bezel are steep, which makes it difficult to read the markings looking straight down on the face of the watch. But they are perfectly legible if you hold the watch at more of an angle and if your prescription eyewear is up to date. The watch is not as big as it appears in photos, which makes it perfect for smaller wrists like mine. (The Casio Edifice is 3.5 mm larger.) If you do happen to have a larger wrist, the bracelet comes with a ridiculous number of extra links, so you should be good. Speaking of the bracelet, I am not sure why there are so many reviews complaining about it being flimsy or rolled metal, unless Casio upgraded it recently. The bracelet I received is not rolled or stamped, it is solid (see photo). And like most Casio metal bracelets, it is beautifully integrated into the case of the watch with a custom link that receives the pin. Before I saw the watch in person, I intended to replace the metal bracelet with a black leather band. I may still do that, because I think the black leather would actually dress it up and be a great look paired with the black dial. But make no mistake, this is a nice bracelet. Mechanically, the stopwatch button is stiff and makes a disconcerting click when you press it. But this may well be a feature instead of a bug, because it functions perfectly. The bezel rotates beautifully—not too tight, not too loose. It almost feels fluid-dampened. Overall, if you’re on a budget and looking for an everyday timepiece with some impressive not-so-everyday complications, this may be your jam. ... show more

  • Great alternative to the Seiko Flightmaster
This watch has a 42-millimeter diameter, 47.5mm lug to lug with a bit of a curve, 22mm lug width, and 11.3mm case thickness. It also has 50 meters of water resistance without a screw-down crown or pushers. The slide rule is a lot of fun to use for random envelope math, but if you don't already know how to use one then you will need to look up a tutorial on how it works since the manual doesn't go into any detail on how to use it. There is also a bit of parallax error if you're not careful since there's a gap between the indexes on the scales. The dial and handset overall are really nice and crisp, with shiny applied indices and shiny pencil hands. The hour hand can sometimes get a bit lost with all of the reflective surfaces, but the minute hand is very easy to read. Both are correctly sized, but the applied indexes are quite long so the hour hand ends up being pretty short. The lume is very solidly meh. It technically works but there's so little of it that it doesn't really last for any length of time. One thing I'm not a huge fan of is the minute subdial for the chronograph feature. It ticks twice per minute instead of once per minute, so instead of ticking over to the next minute after 60 seconds have elapsed, it slowly sweeps over to the correct minute as the chronograph runs. That said, the long second hand, the small second hand, and the chrono minute and hour hands all line up perfectly with the indices which is fantastic. The main issue with the watch is a somewhat disappointing bracelet. It's got rolled links and it feels both light and rattly, but then, you probably shouldn't expect a 50$ watch to come with a 50$ bracelet, and throwing it onto a random 22mm strap that I got for my Orient has worked a treat. It's hardly a dealbreaker or really all that unexpected, but it's worth pointing out. If a slide rule bezel is the main thing that you're after, I think this is a great value purchase since it's a great watch and cheaper by far than the next nearest competitor. If you don't like the bezel and are just looking for a chronograph then I think there are better options out there, specifically watches with date displays and a more common lug width. ... show more
