Description

The CDP-S series is compact, lightweight, portable and can be played not just however you like but wherever you like, too. The fine-grained finish on the key surface prevents slippage caused by perspiration, and the keys feel comfortable to the fingertips even during long sessions. The function notations above the keys make it easy to see which keys to press to change settings such as tones and tempo. Alongwith standard equal temperament tuning, 16 alternate temperaments are available. In duet mode, the left and right halves of the keyboard are set to the same tonal range. The MIDI recorder feature enables performances to be recorded to the piano's internal memory and played back - helpful during lessons or just for fun.Keyboard: Scaled Hammer Action Keyboard IINumber of Keys: 88Touch Response: 3 sensitivity levels, offMaximum Polyphony: 64Number of Tones: 10Demonstration Songs: 2Recorder: [MIDI Recorder] 1 tracks, 1 song Approximately 2,500 notes Real-time recordingSpeaker: [12cm x 6cm (Oval)] x2 2-SpeakersAmplifiers: 8W+8WPower Supply: 2-way [Batteries] AA-size alkaline batteries x 6 Approximatery 13 hours [AC Adaptor] AD-A12150LW (DC 12V)Power Consumption: 8WDimensions: 1,322 x 232 x 99 mm (w/o music stand)Weight: 10.5 kgAdding value to your purchase, Austin Bazaar bundles your instrument with necessary accessories saving you time and money. • WOW!
Pleasantly surprised at all aspects of this Casio piano. First, the package came and looked pretty tattered, I was worried. DON'T BE! They use an outer carton and all components are individually packed in their own cartons, they were perfect! Unpacking took longer than assembly, lots of foam, tape, Styrofoam, etc. Assembly took about 20 minutes without instructions, I assume it would have taken longer if I had read them, they are written in 4 or 5 languages, I am sure they are accurate.... Anyway, if you have basic mechanical ability you will not have any problems. I actually looked at them after the fact to make sure I did not miss anything, I did.... their is an option for an "anti-tip" configuration on the feet - ours is against a wall. Anyway, there are 3 screws on each side with decorative caps, 2 holding on the foot levers (with decorative caps) 2 for the reinforcement bar on the bottom of the keys themselves (there is an obvious groove for this1 x 1 bar) and 6 butterfly's to hold the keyboard to the base. Very straight forward and a great design. The bench had some people saying it is flimsy, actually... it is a great design with incredible strength. If yours is flimsy, you did not tighten the nuts from inside the angle mount back against the nut you placed on the stud. This will make more sense when you see it. They give you a wrench and it is a tight squeeze for the back nuts. But tighten them and it will be extremely stable. Now about the actual keys and the keyboard. Again, a great value. The keys are weighted and feel very pleasant, I think just enough to feel like a real piano. The sound in all 3 modes is great. The few electronic options are great for a unit at this price point, and I particularly like the 60 songs included, great for background noise. All in all, I am sold. Hopefully it holds up, but judging from the thought and quality put into it, I have no reason to believe it won't! Great buy, excellent value! ... show more

  • It is DEFINITELY a good substitute for a real piano!
For those of you wondering 'Is this a good substitute for a real piano?'. YES IT IS! I've played piano for 30 years and have been without one for 2 years (due to moving). It plays beautifully - keys feel nice and touch-sensitive works. The pedals work great. (I haven't used the single pedal that also came with it as I got the package with the '3 pedals'.) It sounds gorgeous! It comes with a good instruction book for figuring out how to use the metronome/change tone etc. I managed to record a song but haven't tried to hook it up to the computer yet. I'm looking forward to experimenting with that! EDIT: I have now..see below. It also has a huge catalogue of songs recorded into it which you can leave playing and it sounds like someone is playing piano for you in the room! You can also play along if you know the music! It's a good package deal. It comes with a beginner keyboard book (not piano) which is no use to me but I'm sure would help someone at least with some basics if they needed. The stool is sturdy and it took my husband just a short time to put the stand together for me. It is such a treat to have this piano! Don't hesitate... get it! EDIT: I have now managed to record from the piano to my computer. I first tried to get the music that I had recorded on the keyboard onto the computer via the USB slot (cable same as one I had for a Printer). I managed to transfer the file onto the computer but could not find a programme to open the music file. Having searched on the internet many people also have this problem. You can download a programme from Casio which transfers music into the 'casio' format to hear via your keyboard but not the other way round! That seems bizarre! Anyway, I read about an alternative way where you play the piano real time into your computer programme which is what I'd thought I would have to do anyway. I use Audacity to edit music so I bought a cable that goes from the back of the keyboard (Dual TS Cable to 3.5 MM) into the Microphone slot on your computer. (Another problem.. my big laptop only has one slot which is dual headphone/microphone so when I tried to record the sound quality was awful! Apparently you can buy a USB port which has both the microphone/headphone - input/output for just a few dollars. I have an old mini-laptop and that one had both slots. I had Audacity on that one and after playing around with the recording levels have managed to record a nice-sounding piano piece from my piano to the computer!) ... show more
