    • Good But Not Perfect

As the title says, this case really is quite good but it's not perfect. I really like how it fits the phone, I like the feel and style, but the "buttons" for the volume and camera really need to be more supple and tactile. Interestingly the case "feels" like it is quite large, but by comparison to my slim Xperia 5ii case it is only a tiny bit larger in thickness (a very good thing because it means the front screen is adequately protected by a raised lip) and basically the same in length and width. It's actually identical in thickness to my old phone's case which I never considered bulky, but there is just something about either the shape or texture that makes it look and feel larger than it actually is. This isn't a bad thing, just an observation. For the volume up and down buttons, you have to press harder than expected and there is a noticeable loss of the tactile feedback click of them. I ended up completely cutting the buttons out and sanding down the sides with my Dremel and a sanding drum to gain direct access to the volume controls. The camera button was even worse. It completely lost the feeling of the half press as well as all of the tactile click. I cut one side of the button web away that connects it to the case and now it is much nicer. I'll probably completely delete the button in the near future to gain direct access to the shutter button. Having to do those two modifications are the only reason I gave it 4 stars. This is a fantastic case for the Xperia 5 II! The texturing on the back feels great, the lip of the case is raised to prevent from screen scratches in falls, and it overall provides peace of mind while not turning your phone into a massive brick. While personally I haven't dropped my phone in the case, that's due in part to it having a great and comfortable grip: one that won't slip out of your hands easily nor pull at your pocket when taking it out. My only gripe is that it can be a little finicky to take screenshots with the usual power button + volume down, but with a bit of practice it's not a big issue. Overall, if you need a case for the 5 II, I could definitely recommend this one! ... show more

Didn't fit snugly and my phone slid around the case. Because of that whenever I take out my phone from the case I see dust and scratches on the back because of the bad fit. The buttons work well though but the protection is not good. Look at other cases

I bought this case in November and it was a cool case, it fits perfectly, but since a couple of weeks it got stretched tight, and now I have my phone moving inside the cover (not too much, but is getting annoying)

A solid case. The sides of the case have a grippy, but not sticky, texture. While it's a soft case, the back feels very durable, and the pinstripe texture around the camera bump looks much more classy than a faux carbon weave. The cutouts are well placed, the the buttons are clicky without adding a lot of resistance. I would totally recommend this to someone looking for a low-key matte-black-everything case that will give your 5 II protection without too much bulk. ... show more
