  • Very high quality release .
So glad I made the switch from finger trigger to this high quality thumb release game changer. Just wish I didn't have to pay as much as I did for it. Did see it in my local bow shop last week for what I paid thou.

  • Love it!
Best release I’ve ever bought! Will order another because it’s nice to have two in case I lose one!

  • Received defective. Ordered a replacement
***Update 11/04/21*** Received the replacement release this time in black vs the blue that was defective. This one feels completely different. The spring jump and snaps after you click it as you should. Spring is not rusted. Feels good. Hopefully im an outlier case. Recommend You pay over 200$ for a release and you get it out of the box with it squeaking when locking it up. Yes it clicks I knew that but that's overcome in a hunting situation by leaving it on the d-loop. But to have it squeak, like are you kidding me. The screws seemed rusted, the included wrenched did not even fit the tension screw and the spring inside must be so rusted or old to make the horrendous sound it does. With that said I am getting a replacement sent for the defective one I received. I will update this review accordingly. ... show more

  • Dude sweet
This release honestly deserves 4.5 stars. I only have one gripe (see below) and it’s really nothing to complain about too much. Pros: Ergonomic. My pinky doesn’t feel pushed out and excluded. Weight. It’s not so light you can’t tell it’s there, but it’s not too heavy either. Thumb knurl. It’s not sandpaper, but it’s not so smooth you don’t get a bite. Mechanisms. The action is smooth. It doesn’t feel gritty when I’m closing the hook. The hook itself butts up flat against the wall, which is also nice because other thumb release hooks are rounded and that gives me an unease that my d-loop could unintentionally pull out (I know it can’t, but that doesn’t ease my wariness. Accuracy? I don’t know the science behind it. Probably related to the surprise shot I’m given for every pull. But my accuracy has increased (have been shooting a trigger release for a long time). For reference, I wear a size 7.5 (m) glove and this release fits my hand perfectly. Cons: I wish all the bolts were either standard or metric rather than a mixture. ... show more

  • Improved my accuracy and consistency
I started shopping for a new release when I realized my accuracy problems were the result of me struggling to adjust to the wrong release for me. My first release was a wrist strap release and my accuracy was great, but then I moved to a hand-held release, and my accuracy and consistency suffered. I finally realized that the new handheld release - though expensive and good quality - had a 1.5 inch "nose" which meant I move my anchor point 1.5 inches farther back. I thought I could just adjust to a new anchor point, but after years of denial, I finally decided to address the problem. So began my search for a handheld release that didn't extend my draw length. The Carter releases - which I'd never heard of - quickly drew my attention as I read the reviews and ratings. After much research, I decided to get the Wise Choice release based on other reviews and the results were immediate. My natural anchor point was reestablished and once again my arrows were finding the bulls eye consistently. Initially, I balked at the $200 price which seems excessive, and possibly there are cheaper alternatives that would be just as reliable, comfortable, and consistent. But when you find the solution to your accuracy issue after years of struggle, happiness and confidence can't be measured. Read Carter's website for all the different release styles they have. ... show more

  • Allows surprise release!
I've never used a thumb release so I'm not an expert but man, this is great! I've heard about "surprise releases" ever since I started shooting a bow but I now know what they feel like. It's taken quite a bit of practice to find my hand to face position and I did have my peep moved but it's worth it to feel like I can hit what I'm aiming at. I totally recommend this release. NOTE: Gloves won't work well with this because of the enclosed finger hole. I wear gloves with the index finger material cut away. If you wear full gloves it will be tight. ... show more

  • Great Release
Purchased the Carter Wise Choice to transition from an index to thumb release. Wise Choice is comfortable & quite. The Wise Choice can also close around your D loop which is great for the tree stand.

  • Its a fine release for sure...
I really like it, but I just want to say one thing. If you are a trigger puncher and want to remain one, save your money, this will not help with anything. This release has adjustable trigger tension and that is why I bought it. Dont get trigger tension and trigger travel mixed up. Most cheap releases have only light triggers and adjustable trigger travel. If you are interested in learning back tension with a thumb button, set the trigger hard, push/pull thru your shot. It takes a long time to learn and its not for everyone... If you are a trigger puncher and on a budget, get a cheaper one... Anyway, its an awesome release for using back tension and a thumb button. ... show more
