I’m a 57 year old and purchased to play with my grandkids (or maybe just an excuse). I’ve owned AfX and Tyco growing up and loved it. I was very impressed with this for the price and will continue to build. The only negatives are that the cars are very limited (if you want to add more) and are very light/flimsy, however they run great and the turbo boost makes it so much more fun. Definitely recommend and wish the company would add more cars into the 1:43 scale. I did purchase the Mustang separately and did not run anywhere near the one’s it came with. This slot car set brought me back 50 years to when I use to race 1/24 scale cars on a 75' full size track. This series is a smaller version built similat to it's 1/24 scale big brother. The 1/32 cars run equivalent to over 300 mph and are really fast! I recommend Carrera sets for adulthood child like all out ACTION! ... show more

My 7yo grandkids love this. I set it up on a folding table and it's working great. I did not have them help me set it up because that's above their current patience levels. I set it up before they arrived, which saved all the stress of them waiting for it to work and stress on me from group unpacking and assembly frenzies, etc. It worked perfectly the first try, everything. You need to use the turbo button on the remotes to get thru the loops, and without it otherwise to start navigating the whole track. My grandkids listened to me telling them that and then they were successfully racing minutes later after getting the turbo trick down. We're all very happy with this purchase! The cars are approximately HO scale size, just a tad larger maybe. If they don't destroy this set, maybe next year we go for the 4-lane international set! ... show more

Unfortunately, both cars started malfunctioning after only a COUPLE OF HOURS of setting the track up for my sons birthday. Mcqueen's gears don't remain aligned so he does not move at all and Jackson Storm for some reason started struggling to race the track ( not enough speed to do the side wall or loop that he was able to do when we first started playing). Reached out to the company and am still waiting for a follow up two weeks later. Overall disappointed and frustrated with the item and company. ... show more

I bought this for my son on his eight birthday. We played it all day and he was thrilled with it. I had a slot car race set when I was a kid, a nice one, and this one is much, much better. The cars got better after using them for an hour or so. I think they had kind of a break in period. They began to hug the track even better than at the start. It has a neat feature on the hand control, it's a removable clip that acts as a governor. When the clip is on it keeps max speed to 70% which is still fast. With the clip in I found I still had to slow down for curves. With the clip out the car is really fast and it requires more skill to race well and remain on the track. But whether the clip is in or out there is the turbo boost button which is so much fun, works very well, and makes the cars just fly. But yet, you can still maintain control with proper bursts of turbo at the right moments. The cars will fly off the track if you give it too much speed but that is a big part of the fun. We laughed often when we'd crash at the intersection or fly off the track. Also the looped track (we always called it loopty-loop) works great. The banked curve works great. Both require additional skill but not too much for an 8 year old. I'm very impressed with the fit and finish. Assembly is easy. Track pieces fit tightly together. Nothing slips apart or moves around while racing. I'm impressed with this toy. I'm planning to buy extension components for Christmas gifts. ... show more
