Extending your Scalextric layout has never been easier. The seven Scalextric Track Extension Packs are totally flexible in their design. Any of these packs can be added to Standard or Digital Scalextric circuits. Each pack can be incorporated into a Scalextric circuit, from simple ovals and figure-of-eight tracks to the largest layouts. One or more Track Extension Packs can be added to the same circuit. You could use all the Track Extension Packs to make a hugely impressive circuit incorporating all the featured track pieces. The reverse side of the packaging explains how the Track Extension Pack can be incorporated into any number of layouts.

This is a fun expansion pack for the Scalextric race track I bought. There are 2 pieces that do a swerve together and apart. There are another 2 straight pieces that are used to hold the ramp and landing pad. The kit also comes with guard rails that easily snap onto either the new or existing pieces of the track. It was easy to add this to my existing track layout. The swerve pieces extended the track on one side and the jump extended the track by the same amount on the other side. There is definitely a bit of a learning curve to make the cars successfully complete the jump. You can adjust how far the landing pad is from the ramp and you will also need to figure out the optimal speed for the cars. It took a while to figure all this out and there was some frustration for a while as the cars seemed to either overshoot the landing or crash into the gap between the ramp and landing pad. After a while, I got pretty good where I could stick the landing 9/10 times. This definitely helps to both make the track a little longer but also to keep it interesting once the excitement of going in endless circles starts to fade a bit. I did struggle a bit with the jump being not perfectly level and the cars were going to one side and falling off the track. Some cardboard under the track on one side helped to level the ramp out and make the cars fly straight. Added a little more life to an already fun toy. ... show more

This single add on added tons of fun to our simple starter kit. Although the pictures show a single layout, with a little creative thinking my daughter managed to come up with a few track designs to change up the race challenge and give us hours of entertainment.
