I bought the same jacket in black 5 years ago and it’s hands down the most warm and durable coat I’ve ever owned. I also get compliments on it still to this day even though it’s visibly frayed and faded from the elements. There is absolutely nothing wrong with my old black jacket and still my go to jacket when it’s cold outside because it’s so warm and comfortable. I just like it so much I wanted another one in a different color so I got the brown one this time. These run big, designed for layering underneath comfortably. Such a stiff fabric but it softens as you wear it and wash it. Thick cotton shell that won’t tear when hopping barbed wire fence or rubbing against sharp rebar. Doesn’t matter if you’re doing construction work, camping, or a professional burglar, this jacket will serve and protect you. It’s like walking around in a sleeping bag with sleeves. This is an amazing jacket. I needed a nice, heavy winter jacket for the cold and windy coastal Santa Cruz weather after moving to college, so I wanted something that would keep me warm but also look cute. This jacket is exactly what I wanted. I get compliments almost every time I wear it and now all my friends want one! Pricing: I don’t usually spend more than $30 on clothing, but I really wanted this jacket, so I decided to splurge a little. Plus, Carhartt is a reliable brand, so I know it will last me a very long time. I looked into a few other brands (Dickies, Patagonia, etc.), but I felt that Carhartt was a better fit for what I was looking for. I considered getting a jacket from Dickies ($139.99) that was close to identical, but I decided to go with Carhartt ($109) because not only was it more cost-efficient, but it seemed warmer and more stylish as well. Pros: The jacket is nice and warm without being too heavy and goes with almost any outfit. I also love that Carhartt tends to look even better with a little wear and tear over time, unlike some other brands. This way I don’t have to treat it like a new pair of white shoes and be worried about getting a little scuff or dirt on it. It is extremely durable, so if that’s what you’re looking for, look no further! Potential Cons: You should be aware that when you first get the jacket it may feel bulky and tough, but it is easy to break in. I washed it a couple of times according to the instructions on the tag and it is much better now. It was a bit big on me (as I was expecting), so I threw it in the dryer after I washed it and it did shrink a little bit, but definitely not too much. For reference, I am 5’2 and 110 lbs and I got the mens small. It is still a little big on me even after shrinking it, but that’s exactly what I was aiming for. The zipper can be a little sticky at times, but it hasn’t been a big issue for me so far. One thing you should know is that it is not waterproof or water-resistant. I wore it in the rain once and the water soaked right through the outer shell. Still not a problem for me though! Just thought I’d mention it. Overall: Overall it's an amazing jacket and is one of my favorite clothing items that I own. I don’t know how I went all this time without it! Runs true to size. The quality of this jacket is unmatched. It’s pretty darn warm, especially so on the single digit degree days. The elastic on the wrist is crucial to not allowing cold air, snow, etc in. Also this jacket is a staple in a man’s wardrobe and looks great for an everyday wear.

A real nicely built jacket, do be aware of the sizing as it runs a bit larger than normal sizes you may be used to. I usually go for XL but with this i should’ve done a larger or possibly even a medium. Great and tough outside fabric that’s meant to last. I do wish it was a bit more insulated but it’s still good for lower temperatures around 15-20 ... show more

Great coat. I would give it 5 stars but the zippers always suck on these coats. Come spring time I will take it to have a better quality zipper put on it. Other than that it fits well and will do its job.

Such a nice jacket and I was lucky they had his size. The 2 xl fit too perfect so we exchanged for 3 xl and it shrank in the arm length as expected. Very comfortable well made jacket that will last for years!
