  • PackTalk Pro or Sena 50R/S?
I had the Sena R for a few months this year in 2024. Overall I was not impressed by anything. The app is very not optimized. Remember when apps were first being developed and you found that it didn’t have basic functionality? That’s what the Sena app was. The Sena Speaker quality was basically “budget” ear bud quality. Ever have to use airplane headphones or buy cheap headphones at a corner store to get you by? That’s was the Sena speakers are. Flat and dull everything, absolutely 0 bass, leaving you feeling that at least some music is better than nothing. But the most terrible part is the voice & audio mixing. No issues hearing people, but if you had music/radio playing and someone would speak/you would speak, it would abruptly dim the music so it would majorly distract you. If you turned off that feature, voices would blast through the speakers and deafen you. The little mixer they include in the app didn’t do enough, so music would be SUPER quiet and voices would be too loud, always. I say all that to tell you that my experience with the PackTalk Pro has been the complete opposite. I’ve had mine for close to 2 months. Outside fitting it to one helmet that has a small fuss (not Cardo’s fault there!), it has been great. App is modern and WORKS. Music sounds great, not fantastic as it’s missing lows, but overall I’m happy with it. They honestly sound like wired Apple Headphones, passable at everything, good at voice. I like that the unit can be removed and attached to other helmets quick. Battery life is fantastic, especially with the auto on/off feature. And the Crash Detection feature can be toggled. It’s great to have another safety net when riding. Outside of the steeper price, I have 0 complaints. It’s a great product. A flagship model that kicks the crap out of the competition. ... show more

  • Better than Expected.
So far great unit. Easier to set up than I thought it would be. Good phone quality

  • Easy to set up and good sound quality
I purchased the Cardo Packtalk Pro primarily based on the new accident detection & alerting, auto on/off, and reviews/comments about Cardo sound quality. I installed the Cardo in my HJC i90 modular helmet. It was straightforward to set up and the unit came with multiple component options to allow for fit in any helmet and configuration. The auto on/off has been working great, which appears to give me longer battery life. Most surprising was the good sound quality. I have a Chief Bobber Dark Horse with Stock pipes so not ultra loud but the sound quality from calls or music came through easily. Noise cancellation appears to be good with several folks surprised I was riding. This is my first and hopefully only helmet bluetooth unit - I’m not into spending/collecting toys unnecessarily, if it works, I use it. I hope I never have to find out if the crash detection works but based on the unit build quality thus far, I am confident it will work as advertised. I recommend this unit. I will try and grab a snapshot of the helmet and unit installed and will update my review when I do. ... show more

  • Activation is so easy
So far these features are the best when you can talk to the unit tell it to call home. Call your daughter crash protection. Hope you never need it but is there.

  • Worth the $$$ for us
Worth the money. My husband and I upgraded from the packtalk this christmas. I was reluctant because of the price, but it has been worth it for us. The sound is so much better and voices are more clear. It is a pain to install the wires and speakers. It clipped on to my HJC helmet perfectly. My husband has the new shoei neotec 3 and we had to use the adhesive because the clip doesn't work. Other than that it connected wonderfully to our phones and other cardo units. ... show more

  • WORST CUSTOMER SUPPORT
Would give no stars, awful customer support. No answer to many emails. The unit came broken, the battery won’t hold a charge at all.

  • Best speaker
Tried other "cheaper" brands and you definitely get what you pay for. If you ever group ride this is a must, but even riding solo the sound quality of the music is well worth the price. Love the voice activation. Crash detection and notification is also comforting although I hope to never use it. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • Charge while you ride
Went on a few long trips with a previous headset that allowed me to charge while I use it and when that one broke I was surprised to find out that's not a common function, glad this one works while you ride/charge. Audio sounds a little low but the wireless updates, quick connectivity, auto sleep mode to save battery, simple ui and a few other great things make me glad I updated. Did have a friend who lost one because the magnetic clip failed and heard the support team offered no help so that does make me want to ducktape it to my helmet ... show more
