    • Better Than Stock Carburetor.
I own a 168.9cc Chinese scooter made by Teyin and imported by a company called Dong Fang. It's a well made scooter. As the time passed the 24mm non adjustable carb that came with the bike started to bog and loose performance. I later found out that the original carburetors were 26mm and they were changed to smaller ones do to EPA regulations. So when I needed a new one it was a no brainer. The carborator fit on my bike perfectly however the air filter is garbage. Keept the box filter and now the bike performance is amazing. No bogging through the entire powerband and better performance. I had my bike back. The standard jets are perfect for my elivation (650' above Sea Level). But this carb you can change the jets if you need to. I definitely recommend this carb for any 125cc to 200cc scooter or ATV. The carburetor is made better than expected for a Chinese made carb. For the price you will not be sorry in purchasing this one. ... show more

Installed, started and idled fine, revved up good, then stalled out..... every time. Take the bike off the stand and it would stall. Restart it and let it idle, just simply shook the bike while on the stand and it would stall. Kept flooding. The only reason I bought the carburetor was because the original one had a plugged main jet and it utilized break away bowl screws from the manufacturer and made it unserviceable. I took a Dremel tool with thin cut off wheels and made a notch in the screw, and used a flat head screwdriver to remove the old screws. Once inside I removed the plugged main jet and cleaned it, then used the bowl and normal screws from this carburetor to reassemble. Works perfectly now. You almost have to buy several of these to get one that works. Trying to talk my customer into buying a Honda scooter and stay away from the Tao Tao crap. ... show more

The original carburetor started dumping gas out of the overflow and into the engine after being parked for awhile. Rather than attempting to rebuild it I purchased this one. It worked great! I used the fuel filter and manifold that came with it to install and connect to the factory air box filter. I changed the oil in the engine to get any gas out that had dumped in from the old carb. Fired right up and runs great. It has some adjustment screws that the original Standard branded carb did not. But I didn't have to adjust it at all. ... show more

    • Vaucuum hoses are worthless
Bought this carb kit to replace the factory non serviceable one on my 150cc SSR Rowdy. I could not get the motor to run until re-used the vacuum hoses and t-fittings from the old carb. Once I replaced the hoses, it finally worked. The ones that come with this kit are way to loose and soft. Even then, since i used the supplied pod filter and deleted my airbox, I had to pull the carb 2 days later to change the slow/pilot jet so the hard/cold starts would stop. The filter they give you flows too much air, the stock slow jet is too small unless you keep the stock airbox. If you order this, get a jet kit and some quality vacuum hoses too. This carburetor was used and faulty. The cylinder head connector was too short; the bolts holding the throttle bracket were stripped. The engine would not run normally at any time...it would quit if the bike was 'jostled' in the slightest- so every time you braked to a stop, or just shook the frame by hand. If I disconnected the fuel line, the engine ran smoothly until the carb was empty. I ordered another new carburetor from a different seller, and it worked perfectly the first time. ... show more
