  • Good Canopy but not without some minor compalints
Color: Navy Blue Size: 12x12
It’s sad to see so many people diss this canopy or trying to use it for purposes it was not designed for. First off it’s not a canopy that you set up and then leave it unattended. That’s just common sense. Think of it as a parachute. A good gust will easily fill it with wind and it will sail which is not the manufacturer’s problem. If you don’t follow the mods I listed below, it will collect rain and bend the criss/cross framing. I have a $1300.00 awning on my RV and if you don’t set it up correctly, it can collect rain. It’s just common sense. I’ll tell you one thing, I set this canopy up in the mountains and left it up for almost two weeks to shade us during the sunny days. It also rained heavily, more heavily than I’ve seen here in 38 yrs of camping in that campground. No rain collected on it. Why? Because I took a few precautions and made some simple adjustments that you can follow were I’ve listed them here. If I could I’d post more photos of my mods but for some reason I was only allowed one photo. I highly recommend using guy lines off each leg at 45 degree angles and angle the stakes away from the canopy at no more than 45 degrees when you drive them into the ground. Also, stake each foot down with at least one stake. Even in stiff winds and very heavy rain my canopy stayed firm! Here are those changes—UPDATE (August 26, 2018): After having this now for two yrs and 8 mos I have encountered some minor problems and have made adjustments accordingly: First off: the canopy is quite slack between the legs and therefore has a tendency to collect rain...lots of rain which did some damage to the frame. I was able to straighten the bent members but they still want to divert inward. The reason there’s so much slack meaning the canopy fabric is not taut, is because the center spire doesn’t extend high enough to pull up on the fabric. This leaves drooping fabric down near the eves. I found that by pushing upward on the spire the canopy tightens up and the sags disappear. The problem is, once I stop pushing up on the spire, it slips back down. I decided I need to permanently support or lock that spire at a higher level to keep those sags out. After consider so options like holes and pins I settled on using a mini C-clamp at the plastic guide. (See photo). I also attached flapper clamps in the center of the eve to pull on the fabric keeping it taut. I then attached a bungee cord to the flapper and stretched the other end to the criss-crossing brace for the spire See second photo. While the product itself is very good, the accessories and instruction sheet are woefully lacking. The instructions that came with it make no mention of the dinky little chrome L-shaped wires and what they are for. Surely they cannot be anchoring pegs as they are way too short to be useful. In addition, there are other things mentioned that don't seem to exist, and there is no nomenclature guide for it. Worst of all, instructional graphic depictions are few and very unclear. Finally, I'm mystified as to what sadist designed the caddy-style bag. The wheels are a nice touch, but for some reason they did not attach the tote handle on the end of the bag across the end cap so that the bag will be behind you as you pull it along. Instead they attached it about 12" down from the top of the bag on the side opposite the wheels making it a painful and awkward to pull. In fact, it's just easier to pick it up and not pull it at all. Because trying to pull it the portion of the bag ahead of the pulling handle bangs the backs of your legs. To avoid that you have to bring it up beside you with your arm held away from your body, which is a strain on older bodies. Lastly, I emailed the Caravan company asking for catalog numbers for parts that I cannot find on their website for future situations three weeks ago and as yet have received no answers, somewhat disappointing. As you can see I have held back on giving less than 5 stars despite the complaints which, in reality, do not affect my appreciation for the canopy itself. Let me say that a 12' x 12' is bigger than I expected and almost didn't fit over an area where I needed shade in my driveway while doing some carpentry. The canopy structure appears to be well built, but the top seems very thin, but who knows what kind of fabric it has that may be iron-tough. One caveat I think needs mentioning is that finding accessories, like side panels, etc for a 12x12 has been daunting. Every one is working around the 10x10 or 10x20 format, including Caravan. In fact, I have not had success yet with Caravan finding a replacement 12x12 canopy top! They simply don't list it and haven't responded to that question as I mentioned. *******************UPDATE************UPDATE********UPDATE******************** Monday (three days ago) while sitting under the canopy I noticed a large opening in the canopy's seam. I took a snapshot of it and sent it to customer service at Caravan with my phone number, name and address. I even offered to go pick up an exchange canopy or have it repaired as I waited at their business in La Mirada, CA where they have their offices. In no time at all I got an extremely kind response from Ms Avila saying no need. Keep the old canopy and a new one will be sent out immediately. Sure enough, I got a notice today from UPS that it will be here by this evening. NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL SERVICE!!!!!! ... show more

  • Great, high quality canopy added shade and beauty to our lives.
Color: Navy Blue Size: 12x12
This is one of the biggest canopies we have ever had. It is a full 12'x12' and fits two picnic tables, a cooler and chairs under it. Everyone loves sitting in the shade on a hot summer day by the pool. It is very sturdy and relatively easy to set up. We used two anchors in each leg of the canopy, so we used 8 anchors in all. It is great that this tent lifts up to accommodate tall people over 6 ft. in height, and we have some tall people in our family who loved the new canopy for the height and the width. The storage bag has wheels for your convenience. You can not go wrong with this sturdy, well built, good looking canopy. We enjoyed getting out of the sizzling sun and under the shade of this canopy. We highly recommend this fabulous canopy. We take it down if there is going to be a storm and store it in the silos. People will tend to gather under the canopy whenever we have a pool party or any get together here on the farm. Don't forget to take it down if you are going to have high winds or a storm, it is not meant to stand up to severe winds. Like our patio table umbrella, we take that down if there is going to be a storm or high winds, too. This great, big handsome and high quality canopy added shade and beautify to our farm, our property and made our lives so fabulous this summer. We love this big Caravan M-Series 2 Pro 12 X 12 Foot canopy!! ... show more

  • Terrible customer service
Color: Navy Blue Size: 12x12
We bought this for an annual picnic day to use for shade. We ordered it in late May, 2019, used it for two days that season. Celebration cancelled due to COVID in 2020. Put it up for July 2021 celebration and noticed several seams splitting along edges where tape wasn't caught properly. The top center support was also starting to split. I reached out to company with inquiry and it took them a month to get back to me, saying high volumes would delay responses. They asked if could I provide receipt, pictures, etc. As soon as I submitted the pictures showing the seams splitting on the "new" fabric, they responded immediately that it was beyond warranty period. Technically, they are correct, but not willing to back their flimsy product. I would discourage purchase. Not expensive, but too expensive for 4-5 days of use. ... show more

  • very nice canopy
Color: Navy Blue Size: 12x12
Very nice. the locking pins work perfectly fine in the legs. The pull rings to release the top locking pins are of high quality. There are two screws holding them in place where some others have only 1. I purchased a 10x20 from northern tool at the same time i bought this one (a very good deal at 220 dollars) and the pull rings are held in by 1 very small screw. One of them was sitting in the bottom of the box because the cheap screw was stripped out of the plastic. 3 of the screws out of 6 legs were stripped out. I purchased slightly bigger screws and kept it but the ones on this are way better and this will not happen. Buy one. Easy set up. the canopy is way better than I thought it would be. I have bought many cheap canopies at 90 bucks without the cross support braces and they collapse under any kind of wind. I anticipate this lasting a long time. ... show more

  • Biggest canopy yet.
Color: Navy Blue Size: 12x12
It is big, it is blue and it is cheap. If you want to keep it a long time never leave it unattended, a strong breeze will destroy it as will a rain shower. I unhook two corners at night so it will not sail away, three corners if it gets windy. People expect a $100.00 unit to hold up like a $1500.00 canopy, not realistic at all. This is a great deal but do not get lazy or forgetful or you will be buying a new one. ... show more

  • ideal weather use only
Color: White Size: 12x12
when used for shade on ideal weather days, its great. Good size, and easily put up, and took down. It works for me ! Can't rate durability yet, as I have not owned it that long.

  • This is a really nice canopy and large
Color: White Size: 12x12
We are using this to cover our entire above ground pool. Really nice and easy to get the cover on and off if there is a storm.
