Arrival: The product arrived in its marketing box packed in a shipping box and was well protected. The production's batter leads, charge cable and manual were included. The product had CE and FCC markings. CE is used on all electrical devices sold in Europe. It provides a level of security for the user and means it conforms to European standards for that particular use. The FCC is the American Federal Communication Commission and ensures that the device doesn't interfere with electrical devices with radio radiation. Inspection: The booster included the Quick-Charge Power Bank: With dual USB outputs(5V/2.1/1.0A). The intent for these two ports is to charge personal electronic accessories. When the iPhone cable or Raspberry Pi 400 charge/power cables were inserted, the display would show the switch to USB outputs with the two voltage/current limitation displayed. One port delivers 2.1A and the other 1.0A. The booster post clamps come with blocking circuitry, tested with an ohm meter, to prevent the possibility of clamping to the wrong polarities. Curiously, it includes a force start button, and the manual doesn't describe its use. However, in the Customer Question and Answer Section (It has the Force start mode ? For starting a car with a complete discharged battery?), the distributor did provide this explanation. If the battery is completely discharged (0VDC), press the force start button to override the logic and start the engine. The booster's charge cable is a USB to USB type C connector. The type C is relatively new, so most people may not have extra cables, so care should be taken to preserve this one. The cable itself is designed to carry higher currents, and the charge requires a charger that can deliver, as a minimum, 2A at 5 VDC. The light is an interesting feature of the booster, making it possible to examine the engine compartment in the dark for the booster attachment points. It was also tested to see if it had the flash and SOS (... --- ...) options. The booster has to be turned on before the light is used. After allowing the booster to discharge after powering a computer for 3 hours, it took less than 1/2 hour to recharge fully. The Amazon ad refers to the 1500 Amp peak current. This must exceed the car's starting current and is often referred to as the cranking current. The peak current should have a time limit and is assumed to be 10 seconds, as found in the FAQ section of the manual under "Can't Start Car." A modern car's average cranking current (CCA) is about 150 CCA. The pickup truck or SUV may require 400-500 CCA. Lead acid batteries can be rated for as high as 1150 CCA. Although the Amazon ad doesn't come out and say it, this product is a 74 Wh lithium-ion battery, as confirmed by the distributor in the Customer Question and Answers section of the Amazon ad. 74 Wh means it can deliver 74 W power for one hour, or, 6 amps at 12 VDC for one hour. If you are using the accessory ports, it should deliver up to 15 amps at 5 VDC for an hour. Because we are limited to 2.1 and 1 amp for a total of 3.1 amp, you could power your devices at a total of 3 amp for 5 hours. Test: I completely disconnected the battery from a Ford 2015 Mustang and was able to start the engine within a couple of seconds. It did feel warm to the touch after this start. After a recharge, the booster was used to power a Raspberry Pi 400 computer and a remote LED 15 inch monitor for 3 hours of uninterrupted use. Cautionary note: A little something about lithium-ion batteries: these batteries are relatively new, used in military and aerospace applications, and are now used in commercial electronics and electric vehicles. This technology can store a very high amount of energy in a very small area of space and can also discharge this energy in a very short time. It is crucial not to be misled by the booster's size and weight. Because of this, great care is needed not to short out the terminals because the energy released could be catastrophic. Their "leak" current is very low, making shelf life exceptionally longer than lead acid batteries. Because of their ability to supply very high currents from a very small area of space, they will heat up. Therefore, it is recommended that they be allowed to cool off between starts, and they tend to heat up when charged. In the past, poorly manufactured lithium batteries did cause fires in laptops.     • This has MANUAL OVERRIDE!!!! It will start a car with dead/no battery.

I wish they stated this in their advertising, but this unit DOES have a manual override to start cars with a dead-dead (0V) battery, or no battery at all. So far I've tested it on a 2.0L N/A engine, and a 4.0L N/A I6, both started without a battery connected. To use the override, you'll need to have the jumper leads disconnected, hold the override button on the jumper plug for 3(ish) seconds till the flashing light turns solid green, plug the jumper leads onto the battery, and you should be good to go. The one gripe I have is there is no on/off switch. So if the jumper light turns red, you have to disconnect the jumper leads from the jumper pack and battery to reset it. Kind of a PITA. And it can be a bit finicky while trying to get it to start cars without a battery. But it will do it... eventually. ... show more

I brought this product because someone jump started my car with it, and I couldn’t afford a battery yet. However, this product works very well. You need to keep it charged otherwise it won't work when you need it! If the red light comes on, it's not charged. My only problem is the light and charging port don't work. I read over the instructions but couldn't find any troubleshooting steps. When connecting. Connect red first and then black. The light should be green and then start your car. Take off immediately. If it don't work disconnect the jumper cables wait a bit and try again. But this really do work and a keeper. This saves me from having to use all my calls to Triple A. Unfortunately, I have to return mines for an replacement due to the charging port and light. Remember if you use it charge it. ... show more

I have a Ford Ranger with a 4.0L V6 that has been sitting for 8 months now. The battery died pretty early into it so it’s been sitting dead for at least 6 months. So dead that nothing worked at all. Well I get this thing thinking I’ll have some issues trying to crank it over since it’s a big displacement V6 but man was I wrong! Clipped it on to the battery went into the truck and immediately it fires up. I was super excited as I thought I’d be spending money on a battery soon which is far more expensive.
