I like this kit it’s a step ahead of my more expensive jumper that I got years ago. I like the jumper clamps built in regulator to help with safe starting. Years ago I think the energy regulation was a critical oversight in earlier models and my first had ruined an optima battery due to the unregulated starting jolts the jumper starter created. I couldn’t tell you specifically what it was it could have been the intensity of the cranking amps on a cold battery or a plethora of other issues, however I knew that I could have saved myself $300 on a battery if I would had this one with seems to have much cleaner power distribution. It does discharge quite quickly compared to my other model. However, it recharges just as fast. I wish it would have came with multiple charging cords but it makes up for that with the outstanding case it comes in. At this price you’re gonna have to make some compromises, I think the makers did right on this one though. ... show more

    • Handy for emergencies
I've been looking at these for a few years and waiting for the price to come down and this is about what I was expecting. Pros: - easy to use - boost function to overcome a totally dead battery - protective case and small form factor - works as a phone/USB charger as well - feels solidly assembled and sufficiently robust to not get damaged easily (dropped, accident, etc). Other: I havent had a real emergency to use this with but I've tried hooking it up to a totally dead 12v battery (~8v) I have in the shop, it correctly detected that there was a failure and would not charge until I manually pressed the 'boost' button on the cable connector section and then it began trying to charge it. If you use this as a self-rescue device should you come out to your vehicle and find the already weak battery dead (after a trip, or in the woods, etc) then I think it's a great thing to have in your trunk, no different than a tire pump or something similar. I'm going to keep it in the truck and see how it performs for a few months and will report back if I have any issues with longevity, durability or function but for now this is exactly what I was looking for in an emergency jump starter kit. ... show more

As the Headline States: Hoped I never had to use it... But I'm glad I had the Acmount Jump Starter. I ordered the Acmount Jump Starter two months ago and gave it a complete charge, but didn't have a way to test it until this weekend. I've been waiting for the weather to warm up to repair a 1995 Volvo. Unfortunately the winter took it's toll on the battery and was completely dead. I hooked red to red and black to the negative terminal. Car started right up as if it was a full sized 12V automotive battery. Very impressive for the size. I should have check the percentage of the charge before starting but did not. After the jump start the LED indicator displayed 92%. Not bad for the Jump Starter sitting for two months and starting a dead battery. Also having the Jump Starter eliminates running an electrical extension from my garage and hooking up a car charger that takes hours to charge the battery. Right there that's worth it. ... show more

VERY impressed with the starting power that comes out of this little package. Started our v8 truck 3 times with it and it barely dropped the gauge. Great price for something with peace of mind.
