These have worked very well for me. It's been hot lately in Santa Monica, where I play beach volleyball and the sand gets quite hot when there is no cloud cover. I could not play comfortably without these. I think I bought mine a little too big but they still work well. I got these to go along with a set of flippers (by same mfg> CAPAS) and glad I did. They really lock your foot into the "foot-box" on the flipper. They also protect my Wide-ass BIG TOE that rubs a bit where toe come into daylight. I bought a a size down bootie on purpose (my size was on cusp between L and XL) because I WANTED snug; the collar of the bootie is very snug above ankle (but then> it's supposed to be) but did NOT cause discomfort or cut off blood flow; collar is about2" high. Size chart is accurate. Booties/socks did not fill with water and absolutely no sand; they got a little wet because I was Boogie boarding and dragging flippers, thus booties, behind on wave; they emptied right out with a finger down the collar. Look at the photos: the bottoms will take some abuse OK, but I was on an all sand shore. If you have trouble sliding into (any) wetsuit, dust it with baby powder; I also powder-down my wetsuit schtuff after rinse and dry: good-to-go. ... show more

Loved the fit and feel of these shoes! They are Like wearing socks that grip. I would like a way to seal the top, some type of elastic band something. But overall great!

Positives: 1. My feet were a lot warmer than if I didn't wear anything but I probably could have just used normal socks too... Negatives: 1. After one use in sand volleyball the other day, a whole appeared.( see pic) 2. Sand kept getting into the socks and I was sitting in wet sand the whole time.
