Buy or not is up to individual. I am going to give you the pros and cons. Pros: 1) well built 2) all zooming done inside the barrel preventing outside elements from getting in 3) the famous F2.8 for this lens is no brainer godly at this 24-105mm 4) the extra short cuts you can program on the lens for easier access 5) the in lens stabilizer 3 stops(using with my R5 that has in body image stabilizer aka IBIS for total of woooping 8 stop image stabilization!) 6) saves you three lens: 50mm, 35-70mm, 70-200mm 7) sliding on tripod is very easy with slider it provides Cons: 1) at the wide angle 24mm F2.8 there is vignette effect on photos 2) is 3lbs and for male shooter with normal hands be ok. For smaller females or males might look too big If you are doubting and you already have many lenses then no need to buy this. If you do not have many lenses and want one to do it all then get this with weight as the trade off. Update 6-19-2024: did some videos today, impressed.
