  • Did the job at a great price
Had everything I needed to transport my new 77 pound, tandem kayak for an excellent price. Only downside of the full package of items needed was the lack of clear directions for tie downs and rope pulleys - had to figure that out myself. Also have to figure out a way to secure the boat on the roof without the wind creating ear splitting vibrating noise at 50+ mph! Not the equipment's fault, just how it was used! :) Good buy for the money! ... show more

  • Worked Perfectly
This kayak ratchet strap kit worked perfectly for my camping trip with two kayaks, was able to secure to the mount and had no issues!

  • Secure tie down, conventient handles
I finally tried these tie downs out since the weather is finally warming up here and I wanted to be sure I know how to use them. Overall they function just like any other tie down, were easy to use and stayed tight when I drove around with the kayak on top of the car. My kayak has carry handles already, so the included ones are surplus but it's a plus to have extra pieces. The tie downs also work well for my paddleboard, ... show more

  • Worked better than expected
I had never used any of these before for camping and it actually was pretty easy to setup and use. Everything was secured and nothing fell off like I was afraid it would because of my bad luck lol. Definitely worth the money and easy to use.

  • No seperate straps for ratchet
Bag of various tie downs for the purpose of securing a Kayak. I ordered this to use with a 4' x 6' trailer for general load securing Pictures on the product page, and measurements as far as I checked are accurate. Got for the ratchet straps, and it is a design where the strap is secured to the buckle (good) but thats the only strap. Thus this really limits the distance you can span using this kit. For a Kayak or similar, this would not be any issue, for other things, you are having only a single point of anchor, which could be tricky. The instructions do give a very clear view of how to route the strap for the best result. The various tie downs that are included are not given any documentation, but should be obvious (if you own a Kayak or boat) with hook mounts, etc. This will make a nice little spares bag - I will probably salvage some of my normal ratchet straps that have a hook end on them that are missing a ratchet end, so I can have anchor points at both ends, and this looks like it will take any normal other common thinner strap for that purpose. You do get a lot of bits with this kit, and if you need it, seems pretty sturdy. Says its rated to 100 degrees with the material, and hoping that is Celsius as nylon isn't known melting in sunlight. ... show more

  • Great kit, provided you know what you need to safely tie down your boat
This is a great kit. Everything in it seems to be high quality. It has a lot of what you might need to strap down a kayak on a vehicle. And you might have extra bits that are handy for other things. But, please make sure you know how to safely tie down your boat to your vehicle. Strapping down a boat to a car isn't necessarily a one size fits all scenerio. So make sure this kit has what you need, and you know how to use it. ... show more

  • Great tie down straps for many uses
Great tie down straps for many uses. I was able to use the smaller ratcheting cords for several projects, and I keep the larger ratchet straps in my garage for securing motorcycles to a small lift. These are basic ratchets, and that's all I needed. The handles come in handy (pun intended) for pulling my kayak. ... show more

  • Tightly-ratcheting and durable straps - lots of utility in a small package!
We're using these straps in our garden, e.g., to temporarily secure containers to posts, tie down lose items during windstorms, and stabilize equipment that gets left outside. We appreciate the tension and strength of these straps - they've been workhorses, and seem quite resistant to abrasion & exposure. Thanks to these, a recent PNW storm with gusts > 45 mph was entirely uneventful as far as tipped and moved items! I can't speak to the use of these for an actual Kayak, but based on other loads, they seem capable of handling the forces encountered by a kayak mounted on a roof rack. For the price, these are a versatile and capable set of fasteners. ... show more
