The lightweight and durable fiberglass-reinforced black nylon blades offer enhanced blade stability and an easy pull through the water. The heat-treated and anodized aluminum shaft is ovalized in both grip areas for optimal comfort and control. The paddle's 2-piece design with three blade offset angle settings (60 Degree Right or Left Hand Control and Unfeathered) makes for simple adjustment to your paddling style, convenient storage and easy transportation to your next paddling adventure. Heavy-duty drip rings are included to keep water from running down the paddle and ultimately keeping you dryer while paddling. While not the lightest paddle on the market, I recently took this paddle (240 cm) on a quick 4 mile flat paddle in a Perception Pescador 12' kayak (28" width) with excellent results. The paddle is efficient, offering great power and control. The rubber 'oval' grip sections, while not really oval-shaped, are comfortable and offer a good grip on the paddle, and the drip rings function well to keep the user dry. The two sides of the paddle shaft fit together precisely with no perceivable play at the joint. I'd recommend this paddle to anyone looking for a great mid-level flat water or day touring paddle that's worth every bit of the price. ... show more

Ordered 220cm and received 230cm. Was going to return, but decided to give them a shot. Actually ended up being a better length due to the width of my Sit-On-Top kayak. I haven't mastered using them offset, but it's nice to have the option. Being able to separate in 2 is great for storage and transport as well as when I kayaked through some narrow mangroves. They don't have the excessive wobble that many cheaper 2-piece paddles are flawed with. Grip is ok, would probably be better if it was slightly thicker. Maybe using kayak gloves would help. However, I've taken 3-4 hr trips without getting blisters. ... show more

Nice kayak paddles I like the feel of the oval hand grips and they come apart and put together very easy. Very well made and good engineering went into this design. I will put some foam covers over the hand grips at some point tho and it would be nice if Cannon Paddles would make something to fit. Covers are not needed but I think it would be nice. I'm not real sure why the 90 degree option is available but will play around with this option. ... show more

Researched online on the best-sized paddle for paddler's height and the length of kayak (a touring kayak in this case) before I purchased. This paddle arrived, as a replacement for the paddle that came with the kayak, and what a difference! Like, between a toothpick and a real paddle! Paddle is well-crafted, light but solid, and handles perfectly. He says paddling is now effortless, very comfortable -- and he covers distances faster and more comfortably. Its a good basic paddle. For $60 though, I was really expecting something better than what I could buy at Walmart for a cheaper price. Based on the feel and design...doesn't seem any better than the $45 Walmart product. The details in the ad state that the handles have "ovalized grips". IT DOES NOT. The handles are the same basic round aluminum tube handles that come on less expensive paddles. All it had on the tube was A VERY THIN heat shrink plastic that is approx 8" long located about where you would grip the handle on each end....NOTHING WAS OVALIZED. ... show more

Nice paddles - we used these with a tour group in Cocoa Beach, FL and noticed how much nicer they were than ones on previous tours we had taken, so decided to buy these when we purchased our own kayaks. We've used them 3 times and are very happy with them. I'm 5 foot 3 and I purchased the 220 cm length; boyfriend is 5'7" and he purchased the 230 cm. I believe I could have gotten the 240 cm and been fine with it, as our kayaks are fairly wide (28"). ... show more

My husband is 6' 4 and needed a larger paddle for kayaking so we did some online shopping. This paddle was perfect for him. It arrived on time and packaged well. Its as described and very sturdy. It breaks apart in the middle as one would expect.
