First let me say how clever the box / design is. I laughed .. out loud. It says I know you’ve been waiting for me … funny ! The kit comes with everything I needed to get started for a classic simple candle. I, myself enjoy scented so I was blown away by how easy it was to place the perfect amount of wax and toss in some essential oil fragrance and before I knew what happens I was three scents in and my house smells fantastic! Lol the kit has a LOT of wax so whatever the project , you’re well on your way ! Plus , you aren’t paying a small fortune for the candles you’d buy at that huge retail place I won’t mention .. I LOVE MY CANDLES ! I am going to need to find the happy medium for the temperature to get the wick to stay stable on the bottom of the containers but other than that , it was so easy to mix , melt and pour into my containers . This kit was an excellent value for a beginning candle maker. I was looking for a new hobby to try while my son began kindergarten that was relaxing, fun and rewarding. This kit was perfect for me. I loved everything it included. I have used it several times and so far it has worked very effectively. I loved that it came with online instructions. I loved the quality packaging and even higher quality materials. I actually like that it’s a simple kit because it allows for lots of creativity and room for learning, growth and experimentation. This kit would make a stand out gift for ANYONE who would like to try something new and likes to learn a new skill. This kit is awesome. It includes everything you need except for the scented oil. The instructions are very clear and easy to follow, and I really got a nice laugh out of the numerous mild sarcasm they included in the safety instructions for the hot plate. I love a good sense of humor! 😁 The hot plate and other tools were all excellent quality, and the soy wax itself seemed top notch to me, though admittedly this is my first time ever trying candle making. The manufacturer clearly cares about quality, and again, I liked their sense of humor and style. I’ll definitely buy from them again if I get the opportunity to do so! I would absolutely recommend this kit. I got it on sale, but it’s worth the usual full price. The candles I made with this kit were a big hit on Christmas! I didn’t use the wicks included in the kit, but they also seemed great quality as well. I ordered wood wicks instead and really enjoyed those. ... show more

Although this was a great starter kit, there are a few additional items that a new candle maker should make sure to order in addition to this. Kit includes a hot plate, a stainless steel warming pot, 50 candle wicks, a stirring spoon, and two 2.5lb bags of soy wax. It does not include any glass jars, adhesives for the wicks, scents to be added to the candle and it does not include a thermometer even though directions specify to heat to certain temperatures. Overall, it is a perfect gift or starter to begin your candle crafting journey and you will have fun making a beautiful candle. After years of purchasing soy wax melts, I decided to try my hand at making my own. So far I've used this twice, and it was a success both times. There are a few additional things needed, though. A digital scale and thermometer were purchased separately, but they're not very expensive; candle dyes aren't, either. I'm buying all my scents from an outside vendor. Another thing I bought is a funnel pouring pitcher; it's so much easier. All in all, this will prove to be much more affordable than buying the melts, plus I can pick any scent or color I want. ... show more

I’m so pleased with these products! I was worried the electric burner wasn’t going to work. However the burner works great. My wax heats up to 200 with no problems. I had no reason to be worried. I have only used the wax to make melts and thus far I have no complaints. As a beginner, I wasn’t aware there could be “frost” associated with not heating the wax to the appropriate temperature. I now keep the wax at 185 for at least 10 minutes. Hope this helps! I definitely would recommend these products. I can fit about 4 cups of wax in the pouring pot. Heads-up the suggested instruction videos on their website aren’t that informative. ... show more

    • Everything A+ except the hot plate

I would not buy this kit again. The hot plate does not heat up enough and I'm going to throw it out. Waste of money and resources. I originally used a double boiler (with very hot water), put it on the hottest setting and waited almost an hour before deciding to move it to the gas stovetop. So glad I did! Once I used the stovetop with the double boiler it worked quickly and perfectly. I created several batches and poured 20-3oz votives within 45 minutes. I loved the pot, spoon, wicks and wax. Buy the items in another kit without the hot plate. You don't need it! Definitely use a double boiler (use a sauce pan with enough water to reach about half way up the pot). Just use your stove or cooktop. I will definitely make candles again. ... show more

I love this kit! It had everything I needed to make a few candles! The wax worked great and I was able to add the scent I wanted and it smells great! I would use this company again in the future. It was easy to use and had great/humorous instructions to follow.
