The Campbell Hausfeld air cleaner/dryer system (PA208503AV) cleans air and removes water vapor at the point of use to help support applications that require oil-free, moisture-free air, like spray painting. Two separate systems condition the air: An oil-removal filter traps 99.9 percent of all oil aerosols, and a desiccant system removes water vapor. An outlet screen keeps desiccant particles from entering the airstream, protecting air tools. The desiccant changes color when it needs to be changed or recharged, providing an easily visible reminder. The cleaner/dryer system includes a quick-release bowl for easily viewing the fluid level and is protected against impact by metal guards. A quarter-turn drain makes maintenance easier. Gets water out of the line when spraying. Nice solid unit that’s well made. You need connectors of your own, it doesn’t supply them. Replace the dessicant, the one it came with seems to go pink too fast.

Most of this filter is made of metal, but the petcock/drain valve is not. I ordered this item, the plastic petcock/drain valve did not close. I had a replacement sent... exact same problem. And it is not replaceable/removable. It seems to be a quality product, so I'm guessing I just had some bad luck with the production group mine came from... but I will never buy this brand again. Who knows what other key components are cheap. ... show more

Seems to work well so far, only thing I am not happy with is the cheesy, drain valve. Cheap plastic that is loosely held in place. I hope it holds up, but not holding my breath. Overall ok.

I had my suspicions about Campbell Hausfeld. I usually think of their components as lower tier, but I needed a combo dryer, and this one at least is a a name brand. The unit feels solid, and I mounted it up quickly. I've gone through one bag of beads, and have another that it came with along with a huge bottle I bought. Came with nothing to connect it with. Had to go to hardware store for connectors. Update# WILL NOT keep up with a compressor that needs to be drained. Water vapor get through in large volumes.
