Love this little guy . With selfie stick, I can't really take full background or full body pictures. With it, I can take pictures while I am far away , or jumping , posting ....You see in the picture, I was at sequoia by myself. To be honest, I did not intend to buy this remote control, I never thought I would need or want one and actually, I did not even know they existed. I was buying a tripod and this was a suggested add-on by Amazon. Since it was so inexpensive and since I am intrigued by technology, I bought it with the thought that if I did not like it, I would give it to one of my kids. My kids take selfies, I do not but, on the occasions where I have taken "selfies", they were more "groupies". When I hike with friends, I'll sometimes take a group shot which necessitates my setting up the phone camera, turning on the selfie timer, and jumping back into the picture. One issue is that if the phone is far away to get the whole group into the shot, I cannot see the timer countdown. This remote eliminates the need for the timer. I opened the package, turned the remote on with the slide switch on its side, and opened the BlueTooth settings on my Samsung Galaxy 9 phone. The remote showed up waiting to be paired, I clicked "pair", and that was all that was required to set it up. I opened the camera app on my phone, placed it about 8 feet away, looked towards the lens, smiled, pressed the button on the remote, and there I was in all my selfie glory in my photo gallery. I bought this in June of 2015, and as of October 2021, it is still working perfectly. I probably use this a few times a month, and it has never failed me. Battery life is great, I'm sure I've replaced it at some point, but I can't remember the last time. It connects to my phone immediately, and works without any issues. Very occasionally, it will disconnect unexpectedly, but that is rare, and isn't usually a problem. Overall, I couldn't be happier with this thing, especially considering how inexpensive it is. I thought I would maybe use this for a few months before it quit, but after 6 years, it's still doing exactly what it's supposed to. ... show more

I purchased this for an upcoming trip, so if the review changes, I will come back and revise. But so far seems to be working just fine. I will say the instructions say in step 1 to check the battery, but I see no way to open the battery compartment whatsoever, no little tab to help open it, no screw, nothing. Just the outline of the compartment that holds what appears to be a disc battery. This will be a problem when the battery dies. Do I then have to repurchase it? Step 2 says to pair it with my phone and look for "CamKix Shutter", but it actually shows in my phone as "AB Shutter3". Just an fyi for other tech-challenged people like myself. ... show more

I love the wrist strap it’s super convenient to wear while taking selfies or record while your phones mounted on a tripod. There’s a slight lag sometimes in the signal between when you click the button and when it registers on my iPhone 12 which is slightly annoying when filming anything but not too worrisome. The two buttons confuse me bc one says android the other says iOS but the iOS only works in the apple camera app only, if you use a third party app you have to use the other shutter ... show more
